now we can bag Denis and ask for more game time but it seems to me denis has got it about right.

AB was held off and held off and is now performing.

Simmo given a few tastes, back to twos, few more sniffs then bang and away he goes.

Really this is egg and chicken stuff. Is Denis right and bringing them on beautifully or is he too slow?

Danny, I think he's doing it the right way. For too long some players have been getting games because we didn't have depth (or our depth wasn't up to scratch). This can promote some degree on laziness, or give-up, in relatively senior players. What we want is anyone out there in Blues running their guts out, trying their hardest. By making the youngsters earn their spot, we are promoting that. Our youngsters run hard, harder than the senior guys on the weekend, to try to keep their place. That's how it has to be.

Who knows - 3 more Simmo like characters in the team and Campo may have missed a couple of games this year? (not a dig at Campo's game this weekend, just recgonsiing he's played some shockers earlier in the season)

I thought Bentick was good..tackles well too...I prefer seeing him get game ahead of others like Davies, Johnson etc and I hope Denis keeps him in the team and in on ball roles..
Simpson was very good although the young boy Pearce seem to spark Port with his blistering speed...Simpson has nice skills and there is nothing better than left footers who can use the ball well.

Jarrod Waite was excellent and I thought Fisher while not starring contested well and was useful.
Frencha nd Bryan were well beaten in the ruck by Lade but I think we need to persist with both...both of them dont palm the ball very well..Lade seem to be able to direct a lot of his hitouts unlike our two rucks who were happy just to get a hand on the ball...some ruck coaching required.
There was one Burgoyne goal where he was on his own and just ran onto a tap out from Lade I think and it looked like a set play..that annoyed me no end...

I agree. I also think he doesn't expect too much from these kids.

Fisher got a 20 possy and 10 mark game last year and his return match was 22 possies and 10 marks (aswell as 3 goals :D)

Also Simmo has had two 18 possies games and a 17 possy game and the way Simmo uses the ball there worth 23-25 possies :D

Positives for me were all the young blokes, there endevour, hardness at the footy and steely resolve. They didn't give up.

Simmo's goal kicking has gone wary though. I love it when I watch him running onto the wing and kicking the ball long to waite on th lead but when he lines up for a goal i cross my fingers and toes.

Not that bad a problem and I reckon its more a mental thing rather than a technique problem and if fish can fix his goal kicking woes then I reckon with a bit of practice in the pre-season simmo will be bangen them in from fifty every week.

In my opinion Simmo is a like the Campo of old but the differance is simmo puts his body on the line and he doesnt mine winning his own ball when the oppurtunity come around.

Smokey for the rising star if he keeps this form up for the remaining games.
