He was but you referred to him as our first rounder selection in that draft.

What do you reckon his trade value would be.
You reckon we could squeze a 2nd rounder out of him.
Maybe a young unestablished player.
Hopefully the dogs want him and we could throw our second rounder + davies for one of there many young guns.

I've watched Davies closely at VFL level and i believe he is an example of a typical carlton problem. Davies is a creative player and anyone who has played footy knows that the ability to create seperates ordinary players from champions, but his overall affect at AFL level is always diminished by the fact that he doesn't seem to have the fitness to follow up mistakes and his physical presence is on par with a first year player. This is unacceptable given the amount of time he has had to develop into a mature bodied player, Adam McPhee is of the same age and he is a hulk compare to Davies. Similarly when Brad Fisher went down at the end of last year i expected him to come back ten kilos heavier but he seems much the same. It's crazy that our forwards have less muscle than brisbane midfielders, it's no wonder Fev complains about being constantly tested for steroids, can u imagine the testers keeping a straight face handing a sample cup to Davies, Fisher, Waite, Sporn, Lappin, Norman, Simmo and Walker?

Looking at Shane Tuck this time last season (3 games in total) he was a year older than Justin Davies at the same point this season (44 games in total)

Does that make sense?? :? :?

Even when Davies has played seniors, he has not had a lot of game time.

Might be one that bites us on the arse if we give him the flick. Seems to do it on the bit at VFL level. One more year IMHO.

Doubt he'd have much trade value at all, 4th rounder maybe. may as well de-list him if we don't want him.

I reckon he stays. We can't afford to be giving away players who have the talent...he certainly has that, just needs to work on his consistency. I've said it many times he's had troubles settling in to the lifestyle here. I reckon one day it'll click for him.

What do you peole reckon a successfull bullants finals series will do for the conifidence of a few of our second tier players and our young guns. It might be the things that gets it going for players like davies and sporn and it will be a great platform for O'hailpin and hartlet "n" russell to kickstart their carears.

By the way, realistically what do you reckon the chances of the Bullies going all the way are. And does anyone have a list of who is eligable to play.

A lot of people also seem to forget the many 1%ers Davies does.
When given game time, he most often than not tries his guts out.
One of the few players who continually goes for a tackle, shephard, or a smother.
He is a hard player, who isn't afraid to give it to an opposition player, even if he is Barry Hall.
How many players do we have that are game enough to hip and shoulder Hall into a fence?
Not many.

It is true that his disposal is at times woeful, but that can be worked on. To be fair, should be given FULL games till seasons end.
If he still doesn't show anything, then fair enough if he is traded/chopped.
I'd rather keep him though 8)
