I agree with that in regards to Wiggins, but the thing is, his footy smarts is about 3. In a perfect scenario, where he only requires to run straight, the ball is coming straight to him, or he only needs to kick straight cos his team mate is free, Wiggins would play really well.

But when you have a situation that requires decision making, he panicks and stuffs it up. For some reason, his brain doesn't process information at the speed of a normal footy player, Something as simple as a sudden change of direction of the ball from a bounce, it takes him a bit longer for him to realise that he needs to change direction to get the ball. He's just a dumb player.

But having said that, Wiggins has good attitude, I think decision making is something that can be developed well with a good attitude and time. I think Wiggins is the type of player that peaks at later stage of his footy career, whether the club is patient enough to wait that long is another question.

Well said. And anyone who thinks Wiggins has adequate (let alone good) disposal over *any* distance needs to go back and watch the tape from the Port game.

If there was a chioce i would have to say Troy Longmuir....

Talent 8 and courage 7....

He is very commited and profesional, and is a very talented player. And a great clubman to boot!

I love Wiggo, but although his courage and determination can be matched by no player on our list, his talent can be surpassed by Troy..

Greetings everyone. :)

To be a forward you have to have confidence, you gotta back yourself and keep your eye on the prize. Wiggins may suit the role because he has a strong mark and you can't question his guts but he just doesn't have the presence of mind. Who posted about his slow decoding? I reckon you are right on the mark there.

Guys remember, we need to delist a number of players to make way for the upgraded rookies and new blood. We cannot keep players who had 4 years potential and who show a few glimpses here and there. To move forward we need some consistency, and you can excuse this not occuring in 1 to even 3 year players, but not 4.

We've got plenty of 'slow decoders'. We've also got plenty who are just plain slow. I reckon both Wiggans and Longmuir will be lucky to still be at Carlton for another two years

Yep I agree. It's a shame Johnson is slow cos he's one of the rare guys we have with really quick hands.

Since Longmuir doesn't seem to be training, looks like a spot in the forwardline is up for grabs for the rest of the year.

I'd love to see Livo get a crack up there.

May have quick hands but his kicking lacks penetration, and misses too many targets by foot.....

Longmuir will be at Carlton next year without a shadow of a doubt..
