I wonder how many of you ever get along to the TAC......
Some of the stuff people think are outageous and downright ignorant.

Oh here we go, the old got to watch TAC and talk to scouts to know anything about football.

You're so obsessed with the TAC and excited about drafting kids and which kids should we draft that you've forgotten what the game is all about.

When in this thread did anyone mention the TAC, depth of the draft, any kid likely to be drafted this season?

I saw a discussion comparing Livo to Goddard and touched on guys 22-24 and how much time we give them....nothing about anyone in this year's draft.

When people think were going to pluck the next Jesaulenko out of our arses they are just that.. ignorant.!!!

and a horse is a horse ofcourse...except when its a mutant and a mule..

How about using your knowledge gained watching TAC and talking to scout's and telling us something useful like if there are any potential Jeeza's in this year's draft.

We can all sit back and look over the history and tell each other yes Judd was drafted at #3, Fischer was drafted in the 70's.

You have a special gift to provide something useful and actually us about the people in the draft.

Head over to TalkingRecruitment and tell us who the Top 10 prospects are this year and a brief description of their potential and style of play. I wouldn't have a clue.

Tell us who we should draft under each scenario, Picks 1 & 2, 2 & 4, 5.

I can tell you who id take at one and two... but that would be like encouraging you to be a bludger... why should i do all the work and you do all the copying???
Ill give you my top ten like i do every year around draft time...

Brad mate!!!

You dont get it.. there are no short cuts in life...!!!
Carlton dont get them to a premiership!!!

And you dont get them for knowledge without getting up off your arse and being pro-active...

If youre interested PM and come along to a game... i dont always do it!!!
Cazzesman and Vintage and a couple of others are always there...

But i do make an effort to get along every 2 or three weeks and educate myself about whats out there.
Not talk about "'Ficher' in the 70s"...

People know over the years i do provide abit of info (and not as much as others) on what i think of the kids...
I dont need to prove anything to anyone.
Or do it because ive been told to...

Don't get me wrong, I sincerely don't doubt for a minute that you're able to provide excellent analysis about the kids in the TAC.

My point isn't to challenge that.

When we're discussing which kids to draft you, along with Cazzesman and Vintage and whoever else watches the games, have all the credibility in the world.

It doesn't help when you're discussing which order we're going to be choosing them from though  or the future direction the club should take in regards to its integrity. You're opinion is just as good as anyone when discussing that also, but please don't pretend watching TAC games makes you more qualified to comment on that aspect.

If I ever offer an opinion on which kids I'd draft at 1 or 2 I'll be sure I correctly footnote who's opinion I've borrowed from.

The difference is most observers wouldnt want a pick after the first round this year.... you might find something but its purely fossicking.
Dont think this club does not need as many top 10 picks as possible thos year and we will rely on smokeys like Betts and Davey or Pearce.. wanna know why they went late???Cos theyre small aboriginal players...crumbers

you wont find a Riewoldt/Kosi/Brown/Judd/Hodge/Ball/Cooney overlooked by everybody.
The focus is on those types.
They make the side not compliment it.

In that case are we better off keeping guys like Davies, Prenda, Johnson, Bannister rather than picking outside say Round 3?

From all reports we won't find one of those players this year either? So whats the point of finishing with a wooden spoon for no superstar in return?

mj, Synbad's point is that we are extremely unlikely to pick up one of those outside of the top 10, probably outside of the top 6, this year.

That is why 2 picks would be beneficial.

I knew that 'cos I've read it in about 1000 of Synbads posts.

I can't believe we have two sides to this discussion.

Quite simply the question is this: Do you want two picks in the top 5 or only one?

Anyone that compares Judd to Fisher has got rocks in their head. Judd is a champion midfielder at 21, can carve up opposition midfields and wins games off his own boot. Oh his team is on the top of the ladder and he won a Brownlow last year. Fisher is a good honest trier at 21, has just made a good recovery from a knee reconstruction and is an inspiration to his teammates. He can take a few grabs, but I have yet to see him win a game off his own boot. Fisher's team is on the bottom of the ladder.

By the way, I have decided not to go to the game this afternoon. I can't imagine going to the game and barracking for the opposition. :?

Re: Fisher - Tigers game in 2003. He had 17 possies and 9 marks that day - was outstanding and kicked the sealer to put us a point up. Murphy kicked 5 but he had like 8 kicks that day. Fisher was our real stand out that day.

OK so he's as good as Judd. My bad. :?
