Spot on Mrs C.
A lot of people who were indifferent to the plight of the "win at all costs" type were instantly grouped into the pro-tank crowd.

Everyone had a varying opinion on the matter, however since each faction had ringleaders and hardliners, everyone sort of got heaped into one camp or the other.
"You want to win at all costs regardless of the damage missing the pick will do to us? You're an anti-tanker."
"You won't fall into a screaming heap and curse to the heavens every time we lose and get closer to the PP? You must be in the pro-tank camp."

Pro-tank, anti-tank, win at all costs, don't care if we lose, want the PP, don't want the PP... regardless of what your stance was, I just think it's good that it's now 100% clear to all that we need that PP like a fat kid needs cake.

Also, I'm certain I read a few passionate "screw the PP, we don't need it" type posts from people who were bleeding navy blue at the time.

now Mrs C I have read heaps about how we must lose, if we didn't Denis is selfish, the board must go etc.

Nowhere have I read anyone saying P.P.'s are bad and must be handed back.

most of us understand the plight of this list

Most of us accept the predicament

but those that don't need not be labelled foolish or stupid or ignorant or whatever.

However it is true some advocated they wanted to lose/tank which is cheating and is against the spirit of the game - just not against best practise under the current system just as when we cheated the salary cap it was against the spirit and was cheating but (until caught) was best practise.

In truth I have not been convinced that we must get P.P's or suffer lasting agony (anything that threatens lastingness of any degree reminds me of those frustrated Christian Brothers exhuding lost semen in frothy mouthed sprouts about hell) I am sure that two picks are better than one in degrees, not in outcomes.

I wonder if any of the so called 'pro tankers' actually go to games and watch us play...or do you stay away and wait until we come good again?

Teach me how you go to a game and want us to lose...do you cheer for the other team?

Explain to me how we're supposed to get anywhere near 30k members next year and attract new sponsors when there's so little light at the end of the tunnel.

Please guarantee me that we won't pick up duds with picks 1&4 and intensify the pain of the spoon.

...If we finish last and gain a PP then I want it to be because we're crap and not tanking games, otherwise I will not continue to waste my weekends.

Why doesn't everyone get the @#$%&! over the whole debate? It can never be validated or won.

What will be, will be. Next Sunday night we'll know what picks we'll have and can speculate what to do next year etc etc...

We're travelling woefully at the moment .... everyone knows that. I can't wait till this season is actually over and some meaningful discussion can be had again.

Go along and watch it

You don't openly cheer for the other team, however after we get a goal you want the opposition to kick one so we arent more than 2 goals in front

Who cares, the only ones that drop off are bandwagoners who will love the positive media in November

Nobody can, however I can guarantee you a better chance

We aren't tanking, though I wouldn't mind if we did at this point

i only started going to carlton games within the last couple of years...cause my dad is a richmond fan, my mum isnt willing to go, and it has taken till now for them to give me the independance. so no-one can say i go away hybernating when we are bad....i have been carlton's number 1 radio listening fan for a decade and it wasnt until 2003 that i was actually able to see us play... (we beat kangas, fev kicked 8 goals)
