There are three things a supporter can do to assist Carlton. If anyone can think of anything more let me know.

1) support Carlton's sponsors.

I think this is the most undervalued of the three. So far I have gone out of my way on numerous occasions to shop at Dan Murphys.

But it isn't enough to just shop there - we have to let them know why we go there instead of other bottle shops. It takes 5 minutes out of my day to write a letter to them (with a copy of the receipt) but it ensures they keep putting money into Carlton.

We are looking at Optus now for our phone bill. If they are similar in costing to what we are on - we will swap back to them.

2) membership

old one... but membership equals power. AFL takes us more seriously? if we have over 30,000 members.

3) Buying Carlton product at Carlton.

There is a new video out on the best of Carlton's history. I haven't checked with the Carlton Shop yet, but I hope they are stocking it....
as this should be a big seller. Good quality vid. with highlights from

Braddles
Silvagni (dad and son)
Jeza
Nicholls
etc
etc
the best marks/goals over previous 40 years.

All good suggestions tap. I don't suppose there will be too many highlights from the 2002-2005 period though. :?

One of the key things anyone involved in business can do is this...

Provide 'pseudo-jobs' to players. They need never show up, just pay them periodically for the 'hard work' they put in for your company. In fact you don't even need to pay them through the books, a paper bag passed to them via their manager will work fine.

This will enable us to hold on to the players that, over time, will help us to win flags, and again let us tell everybody that 'Carlton don't lose anyone they want to keep'.

This to me is essential to the fabric of our club.

We do that to ensure you read AFL articles via the official club site. ;) Sometimes it comes unsruck when the redirection doesn't work, but that's some short term pain.

Good stuff hammer.

Malleefowl - the dvd is called Magic Moments. Definitely worth the cost.

There are some great highlights of the champs like Doull, Nicholls etc.
I forgot what a "physical" player vin Waite was - some of his hits are included including that all in brawl match against collingwood in 69 i think?

Also there was one great steal from Jim Buckley that is worth the price of the dvd alone.
