I was looking forward to taking the family to experience the new Adelaide oval preferably against Adelaide because the Port hype is a bit over the top for visitors. Missed last year bc of family situation.

No Adelaide games and plenty of Carlton supporters
2 Sydney games and a few Carlton supporters.

Saturday arvo games at the G is a must despit the kids having to miss games for their local team...but that's a problem only for Interstaters. I like that problem.

I find it hard to get to Friday night games but its an absolute must see on TV.

Come on Mick and coaching and fitness staff. Get our boys primed for a huge start to the season starting with the Tigers win. Beat WCE in round 2 and we are our way.

Carlton is planning to abandon its gate-sharing deal with traditional rival Richmond when the two teams open the AFL's 2015 home-and-away season.

In a decision that could come at a cost of up to $200,000 to the Tigers' bottom line next year, new Carlton boss Steven Triggconfirmed he was looking at shelving the long-term agreement when the Blues host the season-opener next year on April 2.

Wouldn't it be easier to ask the AFL to provide Carlton with an extra 2-5 million $ per year out of the future fund as per what North Melbourne gets. That way Carlton can keep up with the preliminary finalists, ..ie these funds are needed just to keep up with the Jones's (in this case just to keep up with North).

It isn't worth ruining the relationship with the Tigers for an extra $200,000. The AFL should be funding it. If they can fund North, they can fund Carlton.

Carlton hasn't played in a preliminary since 2001. If equalisation was truly the AFL's aim they should realise that Carlton can't make the preliminary whilst it is being distracted by debt and other issues. Equalisation...? for that to be achieved the AFL assisting Carlton financially should be a key plank in its equalisation policy...or are some clubs more "equal" than other clubs?

Seriously would come to many more Carlton home games if I could experience a Blues fest day at the one venue on the same day one after the other. That's what footy is all about.

This might be a way of attracting the good VFL players to teams aligned with afl teams. Lots of players are thinking the standalone teams are going to give them more opportunity to get on an afl list but this sort of exposure might have some appeal.

Would love to see the curtain raiser return. Unfortunately trying to get a leave pass for both games would be near impossible for me these days!

I really don't see how you associate funding with Prelim Finals.

Without going back, I imagine we'd pay more of the salary cap and have a higher football department spend than North Melbourne so how is a handout going to help us make a prelim final.

Wait, distracted by debt? You think Kane Lucas didn't turn out because he was running around on the field and distracted by our debt position?
