I gues that some people from the Club read these sites, might i add the following....

It has been apparent to me(and others) over the last 3/4 years that there has been a perceived break-down with the traditional strength of our Club, that being its proud History.

To me the Players are a focal point in our History. We have seen a heavy turnover of them.Guys from other Clubs looking for another chance or maybe not wanting to be here.Senior players leaving etc.

We are now at the stage where we are going to have for us an exceptionally young squad who perhaps need reminding about what a great Institution that the CFC has been and will be again.

The Players guernsey presentation night is a big event might i suggest that when the players are alocated their lockers that on opening they find a printed profile of the players who have had the number before them.

Get some pride back into the jumper and its History!

Just a thought!

Great idea 7 dom - and perhaps everyone can be sat down and shown the presentation given to McLaren - because you can never reinforce your goals too many times.....

What a goal to aim for: being the team that "got Carlton back to where it belongs".....

Sensational idea.

They could even hang Jezza's old jockstrap in Fev's locker to get the smell of victory ingrained is his mind.

Whilst applauded Collos statement this week - I thought he should have also reaffirmed our rich culture heritage and history because we need collectively to talk up the carlton brand at every opportunity - Whilst I dont like Eddie Mcchins he does take every opportunity to talk up the brand even if he does it ad nauseum - whilst mere talk and spruiking doesnt mean the brand is strong per se Carlton people seem now because times are tough to shy away from talking up or being associated with the brand - strength is how you deal with adversity not when things are going swimmingly
We should reaffirm that given our rich history et al the last 3 years are an aberration and never let anyone denigrate our proud club
Here endeth the lesson!

Footy was a lot more simple back in the old days and everyone had time to think about the history of the club..these days its different...Campo would have stayed for less money back in the old days just to see out his days at the club and be welcomed back at the bar for a drink...do the young players ever see some of the old players at the club on a regular basis? Give me the days when a kid like Paul Meldrum could walk in off the street and ask for a game and have a successful career.....thats the history I am interested in...
Judging by events at the b&f with Big Nick its clear our players do need a history lesson....

I agree Elwood; all the way.

I know I won't taint Molly's folklore when I say that he really didn't walk in off the street.

Playing for local side Princes Hill; he received an invitation to train and be appraised by Carlton, and he lost the invitation!

When he turned up at training and tried to explain all of that; the story spread and blossomed and became legend.
