Well now we can add a guy with a bung knee..

We need to get into the mind set of growing our own.. and those we bring in (from other clubs")have got to be considerably better than what we already have.
We already have enough average players.. whoever comes in needs to be brilliant.. to add some brilliance to our team...

We have enough toilers.

I do believe I have been saying that for quite some time now. Pick52 (51) should have gone on a kid

Look having come last i would have found a player out of contract and offered a late pick for him or we took him via the PSD...
But not a nothing player...

We dont need talls that cant play tall .. and we dont need ruckmen that arent tall enough..

Our problem is we have too many in between player.. neither this or that...

The way you structure a club is like this....

A REAL SPINE
PLAYERS THAT CAN PLAY IN THE CENTRE SQUARE
PACE

Thats it...

If they arent that theyre not a priority...

And Juzzy???... yes we dont need the season to start to know what he is capable of.. because we know what he is capable of before he did his knee.. and it wasnt that great.

He's still better than most of our tall defenders, so why don't you say what you're really thinking!

what you people dont get is were not going to find our Leo Baarry overnight with someone elses rubbish... it wont happen that Saddington is a star next year and were in the eight.

We do get it! And if we avoid the spoon because we have added depth with Saddington in the side, then it's totally worth trading pick 52.

Its going to take time and we dont need a band aid approach.
Our Barry will come from the 3 we picked upo this year.. or the players we pick up next year.. not with a Saddington.

Who wants a Leo Barry anyway!.

Youre dreaming if you think Saddington will suddenly turn this club around. He wasnt that much chop when he was 100%.

Who said he was going to turn the club around?

Hmmmm....Prendergast or Saddington? :?

Nice try to pretend you know what youre talking about.

Saddington or Prenda??
0-0 draw.. neither will be at the club in 2008.
Unless were still shit...

But you dont get the point do you????

If you have a bucket of shit.. then you find another bucket of shit.. you have two buckets of shit... (or an even bigger bucket of shit) .. so whats the point???

Saddington is yet another nothing player.

And a #4 draft pick with a bung shoulder....hooray for us!

Yeah but Elliot???? the difference is he is untried.. so he might just be Judd ...

Saddington we know what he is... a good honest toiler.. who was not good enough for CHB at the Swans..(before injury)

Its not what we want.. but JK.. is a guy who can play KP... because thats his style...

And yes Hooray for us!!!

JK is going to be awesome.

A shoulder reco effects a KP as much as a knee reco will effect Saddington.

look at Rob Harvey...yes he's a freak, but he came back from a knee reco at 30+ years of age

Beautifull use of the English language and a great metaphor for why we shouldn't try to avoid bottoming out again.

Harvey was that good he was still better than your average footballer after a reco on the knee.
Saddington is an average footballer with a knee reco.

Youre comparing bananas with brownlow medalists.

Yes but Kennedy has an upside and Saddington only has a downside.. because he was never that good.. and he was always an in between.

You dont get logic do you???

I get logic.

I remember a guy had his knee reconstructed after about round 13 of the 1991 season, a famous win against a then undefeated Eagles team.

Whatever happened to him?

You dont get reality do you?

40 years ago doing your knee meant the end of your career, these days it means you're out for a year.

Anyone know how Brad Fisher went this season? Is his career over or does he look better than ever?

Sorry Synbad but I reckon you're way too harsh on Saddington. He's certainly more than a "nothing" footballer, he is actually quite a good player (granted, not a star) who has been unlucky with injury over recent times. In his first five seasons of footy he literally hardly missed a game so he must have done something right. I have little doubt that he would have continued along the same path had injury not affected him, would have played close to 200 games by now and only just turned 26.

I reckon let's give him a chance shall we...he might not be the answer long-term at CHB but if it means that Teague doesn't have to play on Stafford, Whitnall on Pavlich, and players like Prendergast and Deluca don't have to play in defence, it can only be a good thing.

For pick 52 we got a snip.

For the price he was good, but I do not think we should be expecting anything better than a useful back flanker.

Also worried about 3 solid years of injuries, players can bounce back, but 3 years is a long time.
