Great read.

Jarusa - have you contacted this Contributor for Blueseum? I've posted a link inside the Blueseum already, but he sounds useful.

Is he 'one of us'?

Top read that.

Good idea Molsey. Miles has written quite a few articles for Inside Carlton over the years, all very good. Should see if we can contact him.

One of us? Not sure.

For his sake, I hope he isn't.

Try Garth P, or maybe Barks4eva, or what about St. Fidelius, they may have copies, it probably forms pride of place in their Pantheon of St. Kilda Magnificent History. (Ancient & Modern).

Now that's an article !! I'd like to see more written in that manner, I can relate to a lot of it and it really tells it like it was for those who weren't around then.

We were inovative back then....

Syd Jackson was a race oddity.. and we had him.
I had a chat with him once and he told me how he was mates with Sheedy and he used to always tell him about the unbridled raw talent aboriginal players had.
He also told us... and kept nagging us...

We didnt listen.!
Sheedy did.. and he now gets credit for what Syd Jackson used to tell him all those years ago.

Anyone that knows me knows i love the aboriginal players and i spew we dont have enough of them.
Walkz,Betts and McGrath are a start compared to our record over the last 20 years.
Still we could do more when it comes to moulding the kind of talent in our club that i truly believe we just dont have enough of.
Fantastic challenge for the club to just improve its profile in the indigenous community and put something into the community as well as draw upon its richness.
With our close proximity to neighbouring Fitzroy (there is no club there anymore) and the Northern Bullants cpnnection.. i truly bel;ieve this club should be doing a hell of alot more!!!
Fortune favours the bold....!!!!

and its little wonder most of the aboriginal kids support Power and the Dons.

Great article. Like other, I enjoyed the writing style. The author's ability to paint a word picture is exceptional.

Agree Synbad. Does Syd like David Bowie? By the way we had a Heidelberg boy in our grasp a couple of years ago and let him slip - Lovett's been a revelation at the Bummers.
