True Brad but i would think its the leadership groups reponsibility and if nobody from the group puts their hand up its then up to Pagan,Elshaugh or whoever to tap one of them on the shoulder.

So where were the better alternatives? The guys who aspire to be captain?

Its like bagging the current board, there's no point unless someone else is putting their hand up.

It's the example that is set.
When Stevens came to Carlton, he would stay out and do extra stuff whilst Kouta, Lance and co. disappeared down the race.
Soon Stevens acclimatised to the way things are done.

Fev now leaves early. He thinks he'a a senior player.

Who sets the example?
If Kouta, Lance and Fev stayed out, the youngsters wouldnt dare leave the track.
The new players would understand that extra stuff is par for the course.

It's just the way things are. :?

That indicates no leadership across the board, they're following the example set for them.

A player who wanted to be a leader would take the initiative. If Waite had the true leadership potential we think he has then why isn't he the one out there helping Russell with his kicking?

Followers follow the example set, leaders create a new example.

If i were down at Carlton i would single out those who's kicking needs attention..

I would then purchase brand new T.W.Sherrins for each player..

The players would then be instructed to have the ball with them at all times, and bounce it as frequently as possible....

Bouncing the ball requires the player to guide the ball down properly to ensure a good bounce..

The other thing it does is builds up football saturation..

Alot of times the problem is the players inabilaty to guide the ball onto their foot properly..

Fatique doesn't help either...
