So is Voss the head coach we want going forward?
voss will be gone for 2027. he's only here bcos the 2 or 3 coaches wright sounded out weren't interested.
next year we clear out a ton of cap (if i'm not mistaken) we bring in cody and we go again. under a new coach with a new plan and a revamped list to play to the constant changing modern rules.
afl need to have a good look at themselves. i'm a sports nut. nba, mlb, prem league. no other competition in the world, has an annual round of rule changes like we do. it's amateur hour at afl HQ
Yes , all in the name of speeding the game up . I want them to slow the game down . Its way too fast . Like watching basketball . What is this obsession with speed ?
ah Mick ... i got no idea why they're obsessed with speed.
i love the nba - nearly as much as CFC. but viewer numbers at an all time low as most fans are sick of 138-124 scorelines and mindless bombing up and down the court shooting 3's. no defense, their soft tissue - calf, achilles, hammy - injuries are 40% higher than at any other point in the NBA ... and it's all down to this misinterpretation that fans want high scores and speed.
afl is not a well run sport imo. any organisation that feels the need to implement yearly rule changes is just getting lost in itself. there was nothing wrong with the game and since the 6-6-6 rule limited flooding from the centre bounce, the game was in a really healthy spot.
contested footy, chaos ball, run and gun - all of these ways of playing were valid. and watching the different tactical styles come against each other used to be enthralling (for me). where now, if you can't run and gun, you can't compete.
i'd always watch 5 or 6 games a weekend. now i sit thru one carlton game, and that's it.
