Incredibly sad watching the team I love at this low a point.

We really do have some problems. They are not small.

Leadership is a massive issue - one has to wonder if the culture is allowing players to lead - or are they just so mentally shattered they can’t.

Cripps should stand down as captain. It would be good for him and probably for us. Problem is I don’t know who is next? I mean really? Who?

Voss - I honesty don’t know if he can or can’t coach - but it ain’t working at present.

And for those that watched walker today (as I did) - get excited but one bloke ain’t turning this basket case of a club around

Rant over.

Sad.

This is what occurs when the club has no standards and lets everyone control their own destiny.
No expectations or demands for success - culture non existent.
All hot air with no foundation.
Leaving Voss in charge was a disaster waiting to happen and GW has failed us.
Hope he has a plan because things just got worse and it’s going to have to be something exceptional to get us out of this hole.

Btw - the JSoS interview at the end of tonight’s game was truly sad.
Say what you like about him, he still bleeds blue.

What did he say? I thought he'd gone sour on the club, maybe I'm guilty of "sins of the father" thinking.

It’s a must watch. Don’t take my word for it but it was along the lines, he doesn’t really know how to feel. It’s good that they won but it’s a strange feeling, that he couldn’t explain. Also, the way he said it was very sincere.

It wasnt Goddard levels of emotion. Just said it was a funny feeling cos he still had friends at the club. Said he doesn't want to see them where they are at the moment and wishes them the best. Whatever Jack. Piss off mate. We don't need your pity.

I'm still pissed at all of the deserters and will not be a forgiving as some. I get it. I don't blame you for feeling sad about it. But they can all get stuffed.

Having worked in a toxic environment before and seen firsthand the impact it has on people’s wellbeing, good on them for deserting the club.

The deserters have all had the last laugh haven't they? You can't blame them for the mess we are in.

Solely to blame? No. Part of it? Absolutely. As I said, they can all get stuffed

does anyone here needs more convincing about Reidy?

Does this guy look like an AFL Standard? he looked so small standing next to Marshall & TDK. He got butchered yet again!

As for Pitto, his lack of coverage around the ground killed us.

How do Two ruckmen kick 5 or 6 goals between us in a Game?

We seriousely need to recruit 2 Ruckmen next year. Get an established one and throw millions at him and try your luck in the draft or find half a decent one from somewhere...

Pitto/Reidy have taken us no where!
It's easy to see what happened from the stats or moreso from the TOG.

Marshall was on the ground for 74% of the game.
TDK was on the ground for 73% of the game.
So they were on the ground together for 47% of the game.

Pitto was on the ground for 54% of the game.
Reidy was on the ground for 50% of the game.
So they were on the ground together for 4% of the game.

So there was an imbalance in the number of ruckman on the ground. St Kilda had both of their ruckman on the ground for 43% of the game when we only had one of our ruckman on the ground.

No wonder their ruckman kicked 5 goals between them. Sure one of our backmen would have picked them up. However, Marshall is 202cm and TDK is 201cm. Weitering is 195cm and Dean is 193cm. There was no Lewis Young.

We're outsized you say. Don't worry we'll use Frankie Evans who is 182cm. You wondered how that happened didn't you? The TOG tells the story.

If we're going to have two ruckmen then they need to do more than warm the bench when they're not in the ruck.

All of that is planning and coaching.

Further to this let's look at our midfielders and their CBAs.

Cripps TOG 80% CBAs 86% (average 77%)
Walsh TOG 76% CBAs 57% (average 73%)
Cowan TOG 72% CBAs 50% (average 0%)
Smith TOG 75% CBAs 46% (average 40%)
Cerra TOG 67% CBAs 36% (average 62%)
Williams TOG 80% CBAs 14% (average 19%)
Ainsworth TOG 82% CBAs 7% (average 2%)
Florent TOG 89% CBAs 4% (average 0%)

The clearances tonight were 34 to 24 St Kilda's way. Do you wonder why we struggled to get clearances tonight?

We had one person who has averaged 77% CBAs up until tonight suddenly attending 86%. No wonder he got tired and caught holding the ball.

We had another one attending 50% of the CBAs because he was tagging NAS. He had never attended a CBA until now. How was that going to work out?

Consequently, the CBAs for Walsh and Cerra were significantly lower. Even Williams who has attended more CBAs in the past few weeks attended less tonight.

St Kilda's highest CBA was NAS at 68%.

Again, that is planning and coaching. We didn't get the mix right.

It’s a sad state of affairs when a former player with legendary ties to the club feels sorry for us. Then we as a collective shrug our soldiers and commend him for some nice comments. Embarrassing.

I have stated this many times but our biggest issue by far is the loss of our winning culture. We are not ruthless enough. Voss confirmed during the presser that there was little extra motivation playing against TDK & Silvagni. Why? Club should have been honing in on making them pay for leaving the club. Such a meek club.

It’s the reason why good young players tend to fail at this club. Learning from senior players who have been constant losers is not a good environment to start your AFL careers.

Need another circuit breaker. Not sure where it is coming from as I have lost hope again.

It seemed like the whole team were only interested in apathy until they defecated on my face.
