When did Dennis Pagan turn into Kevin Sheedy.

Kevin talked up a gentleman of Asian decent in their game vs Sydney a few weeks back. Last year he talked up the American.

Dennis the difference between Setanta and Tagdh is that Tagdh played Gaelic Football and Setanta played Hurling.
We have a violent hockey player
They have a football player
AFL is played without a stick.
SPOT THE DIFFERENCE!!

Good Second Senior hot out for a player who as some has described had a background of a violent hokey player lol

In comparison to his first senior hot our last year against the Tigers in which he really had no idea where to position himself Circa 12 months on and his improvement has been fantastic even more so if he has been a violent hokey player with a stick in his past life

What more could we ask he Marked .. He contested and threw himself in the pack and if we where in a position to crumb it would have been better for us. He kicks straight so he missed to angle shots cause he failed to curve the ball ... so on the third attempt he did a niced chip to Fisher ... Goal

Hey i was wrapped in his endevour and application and he had a crack and contested hopefully he gets more of a taste in the following Practice matches

SHHH, I don't really see what you're getting at. The differences between Hurling and Aussie Rules are just as great as the differences between Gaelic Football and Aussie Rules. I'm sure you've heard of many NRL players who have switched over to Rugby in recent years, and have done very well.

In any case, Setanta played football in Ireland too.

Some people are just naturally gifted sportsmen, and can pick up any game with a lot of practice (which Setanta and Aisake are doing), and dedication (which Setanta and Aisake have, as everyone who's been to the training or Bullants games would know).

Dennis the difference between Setanta and Tagdh is that Tagdh played Gaelic Football and Setanta played Hurling.

Tadhg is from kerry where football is the number one game. Setanta is from cork where we have a better tradition in hurling. His brother is a legend in Cork as a dual player it just happened that Setanta was better at hurling. Na Piarsaigh is more of a hurling club so maybe thats why he developed the way he did. Sean Óh played in hurling and football All-Irelands in 1999. Aisake played minor fball and hurling with Cork in 2003. Setanta is a big hassle to any club footballer in Cork and if we still had dual intercounty players in cork all three of them would be considered for the Cork footballers

We have a violent hockey player
This shows how little you know of his background and native Irish sports and is an insult to one of the most popular games in Ireland   .

They have a football player
AFL is played without a stick.

The swans took a gamble on a kerry minor footballer. Carlton took a gamble on someone who has played in the equivilant of the GF in Ireland and won Young Player of the year. Senior intercounty hurling is far more taxing than intercounty minor football. The gamble has payed off for the swans so why wouldn't it work out for carlton?

Hi Kevin i agree should be proud of the progress of Santanta sometimes i wish some of the other players more the guys been around for a while stayed back and spent extra time at traing learning the game better themselves

The progress that Santanta has made over 2 years is remarkable from where he started ... He did look out of place on his debut against the Tigers but then so did the whole senior squad we got smashed and prob wasnt a fair that he had debut is such a poor standrad match by the Blues.

Since that game watching his progress in the Bullants and now in the NAB first match he definately in the action contesting taking grabs and even had the ability to pass off when he new he would struggle with the kick when he failed on 2 earlier attempts

So yer a Violent Hocky player lol well i confess to knowing very little about Hurling so my appologise there but i hope that Santanta succeeds he has the determination and desire to succeed and i hope Aisake follows his footsteps :)

SHHH, what does put a smile on your face?

Setanta is a breath of fresh air....hurling, gaelic aside......he may not be perfect, but what he lacks he makes up in absolute committment. He is a monster of a man and an absolute athlete.

There is no doubt the man will make it regardless of any throw away comparisons between he and Tagdh

stick to bagging the saints

I have just got around to watching the game... We are still 2 points up 12 minutes to go... I know the result so don't worry...

Carlos was brilliant for his second ever game... Took the mark on a tight angle, and immediately faked infield to try and fool the maggot into giving him a better angle. Great attack on the ball, better hands than Archie

Long may the Irishman dominate! Fev needs to kick straight!

Yeah - not sure why that wasn't a goal. Those flags were sticking out a mile an dthe ball was actually through the posts when it hit the flag.

Agree with that... A worse decision we are unlikely to see... But you could tell that being rushed affected his kicking for goal... He has to improve this if he is to be the most feared FF in the comp as he has the potential to be...
