We have a dual Premiership Player in our corner as the Sports Minister but he doesn't appear to be doing us any favours.

mate i wanted to rip into and KB.... i respect KB but some of the points they came up with and the Collo bashing was uncalled for do these fools understand we were 11 million in debt, no draft picks, poor list, porr facilities and slowly are turning things round wiping 4 million off the debt have slightly bettered training equipment

Collingwood never had a 11 million dollar debt, they had draft picks and good players just a shit coach we have nothing and this board is rebuilding that..... i would rather they take there time and get it done right then a quick fix that will only hurt us mor in the future

Actually, the 1st part of the disjointed ramble that the wretched pile of blubber offers as journalism, is way more critical of the AFL than it is of us. I thought he pointed out some interesting points about how the AFL has it in for JE, how they've been quick to dole out the coffers for plenty of other grounds, They've been all too happy to watch us go down the gurgler.

I get the distinct impression that their primary objective has always been to break the resistance and independance of the CFC. Since JE has gone and we are on our knees, they feel they have broken our sprit and we are desperate. Now they will re-emerge as friendly benefactors....as long as we play along.

I'm not a JE fan but i cant help but wonder if some of his legacy hasnt been due in part or exacerbated at the very least by the mechanations of some slimy turds over at the AFL. Its very easy to blame it all on JE now that he has gone and I'm certainly not defending JE, but who else has had a hand in this. Jack is an easy target, systematically denigrated, ridiculed and discredited, and to my mind often with good reason, but there are other bloody fingerprints on the wounded carcass that is the CFC. i just worry that some of today's 'white knights' were in fact yesterday's conspirators.

I can't bring myself to read anything by Patrick Smith. I had enough when he wrote for the Age. The giveaway then was that he was promoted as "provocative" - not intelligent; insightful; witty etc. Being provocative is something any idiot can do but the Age didn't get any old idiot to do it, they got a vindictive, vicious, petty, barely intelligent hack in Smith to write 'opinion' pieces. He never has any ideas he just looks for ways to inflict his leaden, heavy handed, lumbering prose on us without providing any insight or intelligent interpretation. The astonishing thing is that he is employed at all, even more astonishing that such a mediocre talent, having landed a dream job of writing opinions, can actually still be bitter. Geez Pat, the fact that you never got the call up for Victoria in the Shield maybe had a bit to do with that dodgy action, be happy that you were a successful District bowler, don't carry petty bitterness at every sportsman and entity that got further than you
