This morning I rang the club (1300 72 79 81) and asked about registration to vote. They faxed out the form (one page), and I faxed it back. The whole process took about three minutes.

Make our votes count and get guys like Greg Lee on board (my opinion only of course).

Can anyone tell me why the club's only putting 25 as the quorum for an AGM, but 200 for any other general meeting??

I understand the logic of "making it easier to achieve a quorum", but that's one hell of a reduction!

That's my problem with a proxy vote - I don't know how realistic that figure is.....

If they don't get a quorum they can't have an AGM which means they have to organise another AGM on another day which means spending more money.

Just a guess.

When's the cut-off to register. My membership pack hasn't arrived in the post yet!

Just ring the membership department up to confirm whether you are registered to vote. Since 2003, registration are valid beyond the initial year of membership if you continue to renew.

I rang and discovered that I hadn't re-enrolled to vote since 2002 and they sent me a registration form pronto which I posted back this week. Very efficient, competent process. Number listed above.

Same here - but now registered. Very nice over the phone & easy solution.

Time for me to get political for I want to be Lee's replacement in 10 years time.

According to Claire, who I spoke to this morning, they can fax the form to you, or mail it, and it's OK to fax it back.

E-mail is not an option.

You're going to have get on Synbad's good side if you want to be President.

I faxed my form back today but I might it back as well, because I was pretty sure I filled in every part of the membership form. :?

Don't worry Juzzy - Kouta is in my sights after this morning's headlines so I think Synners will be on board. All I need is some sponsorship $.....

Prerequisites for board members

You need to be a visionary
you must be looking at the clubs future interests ..
you must be proactive and not a poser..
you must not kiss babies and shake hands onle, .. you must go out there and do something
you must not be a zombie who nods his head at all of the stupidity going around the place.
you must be capable of doing more at a board meeting than sitting there nodding your head and dunking donuts.
most of all you must be of some use to someone around the club and not be a complete and utter oxygen thief!!!

I miss out then. I've been thieving oxygen and dunking donuts for years.

Dunking donuts doesn't mean what I think it means does it?
