He is missing Campo- Campo took the No1 tagger now Stevens is getting it . Will struggle all year until someone else steps up

Stevens came good in the second half of last year. At the same time Campo was playing in the back pocket

Campo did not take the number one tag most weeks, and when he was tagged it was by a scragger like Holland because opposing coaches know that he's incredibly easy to put off his game.

Scrag Campo --> Campo cracks them --> Campo plays poorly --> Campo whacks tagger --> Campo gets a holiday.

re: Campo....had 20 possies vs Brisbane but they were junk possies and he didnt influence the game....too me he has been no loss and Simpson has taken his position and given us more.

Nick Stevens I would play half back and release Walker up the ground...only until Stevens regained form and confidence...I would view Stevens as the playmaker half back rather than a defensive player and let him get a few easy kicks to bring him into the game.....it might also break the tag cycle if this is the problem.....

Holland is Collingwoods no 1. tagger.

Stevsns did ok.
Did he dominate? ... No...!!!

Its a different game and he like everyone else has to adjust to what hes been doing in the last 2 years.
Mickstar??? Lance is our captain?
you have to be kidding????

I love your passion but Lance captain???

Currently were devising a game plan to stop the opposition from exploiting Lance in defence. Were just swarming with blokes back there so he isnt exposed.

Youll notice the few times he was out in the open on his own in a contested situation he was shitting his dacks.. couldnt bend over...

We need to develop a gameplan to contest a footy game not to protect Lance ....

Footy has changed.

McGuire on the weekend reckon StKilda have been caught out... Lance has been too.
The writing has been on the wall for him for the last 3 years.
SPEED KILLS!!!.. thats where its at now.

It pissed me off Russell wasnt taken across there.
We NEED to draft PACE this year...

Were falling behind the trends set by the clubs that will be challenging for the next few flags.

Lance is more suited to chess... where he can use that brain of his.

This is a very fast game now.

Stevens and the midfield need faster players around them.
how good did Simmo and Walker look???

Thats the new game.

crap, bulldogs look amazing and their drafting strategy for the last few years has been footballers over athletes, ie skill over pace. Griffen over Tambling for one example.

crap!
The Dogs have a SUPERFAST side... show me how it isnt...
Just go through them

Then look at Lance and Kouta up against Chris Grant... Chris Grant looks the faster player of the three.

They have been drafting footballers who can run and they have developed them... they dont have KPPs???Dont worry.. they have a modern day gameplan that can counter it.

Thats all...

Sprint times don't make you fast in football. It's a combonation of things, take your own advice and think outsdie the square.

If footy was all about running straight lines it'd be an exact science by now.

Has to get more than 15 possessions & 5 to half time. We're not going to win games if he can't do better than that.

Stevens is a good player who needs to work on facets of his game.He didnt go ok in the first half.He was shit and Crowley his direct opponent was B.o.g.If you want to start another lets bash up on Whitnall thread be our guest Synbad or better still just find about page 30 of the Carlton threads and spew that out again.

Good reason he wasn't there, he's not ready. He's got the ability but is still making too many ordinary decisions at V.F.L level for a senior call-up IMHO.
