Turned up late to a Carlton Collingwood Game in 85 or 86 to be told that a young tacker by the name of Silvagni had taken a 'bit of a nice grab'
That would be '88.
This is the one that always riles me. I went to the ground with some friends and we arrived early for the start of the reserves. I worked for a particular bank (that now struggles with capital letters) at the time and got paged about half way through the reserves game. I was on IT support. I rang them on a public phone, but was struggling to hear as the crowd was building. I gave them a few things to try and left them be. Shortly later they paged me again. I went back to the public phone and was on it for half an hour. I still couldn't help them solve their problem. By this time there were about 8 people queued up to use the phone. I could take it no longer. I had to go into work. I got a passout and went to work for an hour or two to fix the problem. I got back about half way through the seniors to hear that SOS had taken a screamer. What made it worse was that it was talked about the whole next week. It became mark of the year and has gone down in history as one of the best. I was there, but I missed it.
