Might be a post-Lavington press conference.

It was mentioned in the following thread and even if I could find the link from round 1 of ins and outs I couldn't put it on here.

If Pagan has done one thing right,it is the way he has slowly educated Walker.Thats right, educated him.If you look at Walkers career from an early age,he was never a ball magnet. And for the midfield,ya gotta be a ball magnet.Remember,Pagan gave Walker plenty of chances in the guts, and he failed to take his chances........What to do ?........Denis put him on the ball magnets so he could get an idea where to go to get the pill. The tagging role. And its worked to perfection. He now puts himself in a position to win the ball.Everything is going to plan at this stage,s leave him where he is.

I don't want to sound negative, however I thought he was rather disappointing against Sydney on Sat night and still has a long way to go. At the moment McLean, Bradley and Sylvia all look like more promising prospects to me.

Hopefully he will turn things around next week.

It's not his athleticism, running capacity, leap or effort that is in question. It's just his disposal and polish which needs working on. Once he is regularly finding targets out of the back half by hand and foot, he'll be a star - GO TEX!

Really????? Walker shows far more promise than any of those gumbys...although reportedly Sylvia is handy if you want someone to put the knee into your teammate or your girlfriend...

Buchanan took him deep into the pocket - negated his run off half back and took him out of the game and out of his comfort zone - Smart move by Roos as Walkers has provided a lot of our attack in the first two games

thought Pagan may have moved him - but that might have been expecting to much

Hey dont blame Walker. It wasnt just Buchanan it was every single spare Swan that Walker manne dup on. He'd line up at half back and the Swan, whoever he was on, would just run back to the square and keep him out of the game.

Sort of like being tagged but not quite. It happened after each goal in the second half. They wanted him out of the game, and it worked.

How about telling a McGrath or whoever to swap to keep Walker where he can be damaging?

Because Pagan is the coach!!

McGrath does as he is told.

Maybe this is what Synbad was alluding to when he was questioning leadership. Whitnall or Lappin? Do they know what the game plan is? Are hey empowered as to take ownership of such decisions whilst on the field?

I don't know who the General of the backline is, nor do I know if they are allowed/ encouraged as players to make these type of calls.

Roos won that chess game against Pagan.

Sure did. Didn't get a touch in the second half.

Thought he was outstanding in the 1st half (clearly our best), showed the rest of the team how to play some attacking footy, and despite not getting a touch in the 2nd half due to Pagan not seeming to allow them to change the matchups, still seemed to do a few 1%ers.

Very silly to allow him to be taken out of the game like that, but it shows how damaging Roos thought he was, and he and the team will learn from it.

I just want him out of defence. I just don't understand why we persist with him playing in the back half.

All of his junoir days were played in the midfield burning opponents off and kicking long running goals.

Not quite right Nikco1.............he played on a HBF in the TAC Cup and provided plenty of run and attacking flair from that position.

Education so he learns how to find the ball & be more defensive.

Get off Walker's back! He is a good young player playing in an ordinary team and out of position. I bet if he was drafted by a top 4 club he would be further progressed as an AFL player!

We would of gained less from that move. You have to look at the big picture, which is we still don't have enough talent to be serious contenders. Untill then the kids will learn from all angles, so that they become more complete players.
