1995

Coming off those successive losses to the Saints & the Swans (the bit I fast fwd through on 'Ballistic Blues'), we met the Hawks at home. Hanna & Kouta dominated, we won the match by qtr time, & the sun was shining on us once more...

Our first 25 games (and 14 years) against them were pretty good.

My very first Carlton game was the 1987 grand final and for obvious reasons it was a rippa :-D

I think it might have one of Peter Dean's last games in '98 at PP

It was my first game live at the Oval and we came back from I think it was 38 points down at half time

The social club was totally packed upstairs - it was an awesome experience and one I'll never forget

Rd 12 2004 - the middle leg of the 'Fev trilogy'

Fish goaled after the siren and we had a 12 pt win after looking like belting them halfway through the match.

That was the match the umpires tried to give the match back to the Hawks after half time? Or am I thinking of the Richmond match that year?

1969(?) 30.30 ahh now that was a game of football.

was there a game against the Hawks that Johnno kicked 7 goals - if there was that was a great game too - I seem to remember him streaming down the flank - absolutely Elliot Nessesque.

If not shit I can't wait 'til we have good enough side to make me have those dreams again.... (hey this might be a good article - or, wait for it Synners and BV - a poem!!!!!!)

I think it was round 3 in 1993, the week after Sticks missed against the bombers for the draw. Came out and goaled after 1/4 time and 3/4 time and we hung on by a goal. I also enjoyed Braddles 300th at Waverley against them and another out there when Ang kicked 5?

Also regretably remember dunstall kicking his 100th goal to win the game one year.

Wasn't the Sticks Out-on-the-full match the final round in 1993?

1983 - about 5 goals down at half time. came out in 3rd qtr to kick 10 with dominator, having been moved into the centre at half time, going berserk on terry wallet. from memory, johnno picked up almost a kick a minute up to the half way mark of the 3rd qtr. i will never forget wayne harmes one arm tackle on john kennedy jnr deep in our backline. hunter, i think, was moved into the forward line and took a HUGE mark on the point of the goal square.

1980 - we kicked 14 (from memory) straight behinds in the last qtr before johnno got one right on the siren. we lost by 2 points!!!!!!!!! i recall wow jones missing one from right in front in the goal square!!!!!!!

1988 - second semi at waverley. coldest friggin day EVER experienced at the footy. ayres made sure dominator wouldn't play any more games that year by breaking his ribs as he "attempted" to kick the ball off the ground as a pack formed. rain and wind made it impossible to score at the main scoreboard end. we lost the game by allowing them to kick 3 goals in time on in the 2nd qtr. conditions were so bad that day i swore i would never go to waverley again!!!!!!!!!!

Qualifying Final against Hawthorn 1982 - magnificent 3rd quarter saw Wayne Harmes kick 4 goals in the third quarter including a sensational snap from the bounday (directly in line with that 8) . From memory we kicked 8 goals in the third quarter, from the 20 minute mark onwards.

Pretty sure that was in 89 at Waverley kerna

In their premiership year we kept up all day & had the momentum at the end. But late in the 4th, dunstall kicked his 100th, thousands of kids streamed on & the game was held up for 10 min…we lost all our run & lost by 5 points.

The following year we upset them by 67 :-D
