Tonight I went to the game and was totally disgusted with our Game Plan. Pagan has the whole forward line pushing up the ground in our forward fifty there is no-one. Then we run the ball out of the back line and they need to prop and criss cross before the poor forwards have to push them selves down the ground again to give them a target. No wonder our forwards are totally rooted half way through the game...Esp poor Fish the expression on his face said it all tonight.
The other thing that I was highly critical of was that Walker stayed all night on Croad and Thornton on Williams...Height would have thought that Thornton onto Croad and speed Walker onto Williams....Hence why Croad totally crucified us.....Brace ourselves guys with this style of play we are going to have another spoon to our name....Face facts it is a horrible style of game we are playing and I can't believe that Pagan is teaching our young kids this way....
The sooner he goes the better I think!!!!!!

umm Walker played well on Croad after he killed Lance. Think Croad got 2 goals on tex and one was a turnover that Tex could do nothing about. T-Bird beat Williams easily I thought.

and people just get it in their heads we were missing our FF and our CHF - name a side this wouldn't effect.

Wont win you games but its hard to thrash a side that plays like this.

We just dont want to be thrashed...

Not much you can do with soooo many players not playing up to required level yet. The calves will eventually turn into cattle.

The upsiade of this Game Plan is that Hawthorn played a very similar one in season 2005 and look how they seem to have improved this year. Maybe Pagan is following Clarksons vision for success ?? 8)

Very true Sinners, another honourable loss. It seems Pagan can accept a 5 goal loss rather than developing and giving some of the youngsters the freedon to run, chase and learn.

Even blind freddy could see we were not going to kick enough goals to win the game so why not take a punt and put Walker on the ball and let him RUN, Setanta can't read the play therefore play him back and let him be lead to the ball and let him run straight.

I would have liked to see Setanta playing on the wing so he can get some touches instead of playing in an undermanned forward line while we flooded back and bombed the ball forward to him.

I would like to see him play another year in the VFL or be played when we have a fully fit forward line operating. You have to remember he aint a kid that has played the game most of his life, its very obvious he still cant read the game so why throw him in when we have a depleted forward structure and expect so much of him

No doubt it will be a test of character for the kid he could easily walk away and say boy what have i got myself into or alright this is what i have to concerntrate on

This is were our leadership group have to step in and show Setanta support. I noticed at half time he was walking off teh ground next to T-bird and he was asking t-bird a question.

There were some positive signs to come from last night, we kicked 2 goals 7 in the third quater having Fev and Waitey up forward could have been the difference.

I reckon it is great that Denis has decided to drag himself out of the last century. The old game plan IE. close your eyes and kick the shit out of it was deplorable and completely obsolete. We may look ugly at the moment, but its a whole lot better than being flogged by 10 goals plus.

Two minds about this .... I hate the flood, and the way we allow opposition free run with the ball in our forward line by having one on 3 and one on 4 non contests up there.

Fish is a good forward who spent 1/2 his time in the back half.

The other side of the coin is, can we tolerate possible thrashings while we learn to be more aware and not turn the ball over so often. Or would going more one on one actually give us more chance of winning. I think Pagan is not willing to take that risk.
