Win the ball well then do nothing with it or turn it over....disposal errors really hurt us every week and are the difference between winning and losing some games....
Ruckman....French and Mclaren did nothing around the ground and when Everitt was on the ball he dominated..Deluca won plenty of the ball but didnt do much with it when he got it....

Without Fev and Waite the forward line didnt function apart from Whitnall..

im critical on french yday.

the guy is over 200cm, for his size & his role he takes no marks around the ground.
Last night he dropped a few against midgets in our defence and put us under pressure

I agree, French's soft hands are back, his mark was spoiled by Bateman, it should not have happened!!

And also, another negative is that we are not chasing hard enough, some players just gives up too easily. Tackling was bad too, especially Scotland, his tackling is soft as butter, totally ineffective!

ATTENTION RECRUITERS - CAN WE LOOK AT DRAFTING PLAYERS THAT HAVE FOOTBALL SKILLS, and less athletism as we have too many of these already?

If you don't have athleticism, you don't get the time and space to execute your skills. It's one of the reasons why Blackwell is still playing for the Bullants at the moment. Both skills and athleticism are needed.

I'd hardly call Vandenberg, Sewell, Clark, Osborne and Campbell highly skilled. But they run hard and fast and they hit hard, which is one of the reasons why they won last night (and they make it much easier for their real cream in Hodge and Crawford and Mitchell to hurt the opposition).

Disagree, we have enough athletes. Draft players with skills and smarts, eg Scott West. Not blessed with athleticism, but hits targets and knows where to run. We don't have enough of this type!!!

Bentick, Smith and Blackwell.

I think you'll find most lists carry no more than 1 or 2 of these one position types. Obviously we all want champion players, with elite skill level. But it's simply to simplistic to say it's skill vs athleticism. If that was the case, Daniel Harford would still be on ourl ist.

You're kidding, right?

Bentick is a big improver and I for one have been impressed with his progress as a player, despite my initial thoughts. BUT - his kicking still lacks penetration and isn't polished for the position he plays. Bentick is more of bullocking type player we need, but lacks polish.

Smith - haven't seen enough of him, so cannot really comment.

Blackwell - still raw, and yet to be given any game time in the seniors. Having seen him in practice matches, and intra club games, he could be the sort of player we lack, but one question mark I have is his lack of penetration with kicking long distances. Hopefully that improves.

I just remembered another negative (forgive me if it has been mentioned, but trying to keep up with you guys and your incessant need to start new threads is reallly hard)

That annoys me as well. Some people are just yobbos and it couldn't be beaten out of them with a breeze block nailed to a cricket bat.

Hawthorn walked off to line up before it had finished!
