I miss the Kouta of '99 and 2000. Hopefully he'll make the decision that is best for him and the club. That may be to play on for another year, or it may be to retire and pursue a media career.
One of my all time favourite Carlton players and it pains me that we'll never get to see just how good he could've been.

I thought Kouta never spoke to the media.

I was thinking during the week, with over seven million to spread between 30 odd players, no-one can claim to be worth anything over $250,000 they way we are playing at present. It's a worrying sign.

He speaks to Foxtel who pay him on top of what Carlton pay him!

Kouta probably has given me more pleasure as a Carlton supporter than any other player. At his peak he was simply the best. However, it is now obvious that the game has passed him by. It is sad because he has been a great servant of the club. If he didn't get his injuries then he would have been worth the millions no doubt about it (OK perhaps it was still over the top). Anyway, thanks Kouta. This article highlights for those that haven't come to grips with it yet that this will be the last year for the Kouta.

But he also urged supporters to remain faithful to the Blues in what he describes as the most challenging year of his 15 seasons at senior level.

"We're trying our guts out for not much return at the moment but we have faith in each other. I want all fans to stick with us now and into the future as this is a club that's prided itself on success but also loyal support."

He obviously hasn't spent too much time here. And when has Carlton ever been loyal. We have been one of the most ruthless clubs in history. At some stage we just got fat.
