Doull was hardly ever beaten - Synbad compared Scarlett to him . Scarlettt wouldn't be a pimple on Doulls bum . Andy Mackay was similar but no where near as tough or as cool and calm. When they had the old 15 metre penalty if Doull was outmarked he would give one away straight away . It allowed the other players time to pick up their man. I convinced they changed that rule to 50 because of him

Jezza -I cant compare him to anyone really he was so versitile . The fact that he kicked a 100 goals in a year and ended up a backman showed you how talented he was.


The Buzz was a clone of Ablett very very similar players except Ablett played longer and The Buzz was a show man and was better defensively in the forward line

Johnson was a lot like Voss but I think Johnno had more mongrel in him and when he turned up to play you knew you were not going to lose .

I didn't miss a game from 78 - 82 when I moved to Sydney they were great years but when I think back we were so far ahead of everyone else it wasn't funny and if they wasn't trouble in 80 we would have won 4 straight . There were so many great players . Well at least they all seemed great at the time
