After that start to his post match press conference Clarkson then went on to finish with what a great effort it was and how we should be proud of the players and how they put in that great effort.

What is the romantic idea behind throwing forwards back?

Yeah... but Stephen Silvagni is a 'one in a century' player.

Kennedy=Sinvagni=NO
Waite = Silvagni=NO
Gumbleton=Silvagni=NO
Hansen=Silvagni=NO

We need to fix the CHB and CHF position to start stablising our spine=structure.

If, lets say Hansen is a better at CHF than Kennedy,and
If Hansen is a better CHB than Kennedy.
Do you take Hansen for a CHF or CHB role?

If so, you'd need to know if Kennedy has a feel for the position at CHB, (whilst you can), because it's an important question to consider for the upcoming 'superdraft'.

Chad Cornes.

Ok were coaching for the future... right?
so why would we not try Kennedy back on Ottens or McCarthey to see if he can play that role against the very tall forwards seeing there is a guy similar to Kennedy in the draft in Gumbleton??

Then we might be able to play Lance at CHF and see how opening up another avenue with Arch and Fev up forward would go for our midfield???

What you might develop is more confidence for the midfield to go forward via another avenue...
You might take a better look at Kennedy.. rather than having him on and off...
the other thing you might do is go on the front foot tactically.... but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... too imaginative....

Holy Moly ... I agree with Synbad, especially the bolded bit. The world has gone mad. :P

Well for once you havent been wrong Surrey...

We all know Thornton by now; strengths, weaknesses, high's, low's, injuries. He was forced into the FB role when Livo didn't take it. So another KP to consider for discussion is FB.

Is Thornton or Hartlett our future at FB? or
Is Thornton ideally a classic HBF, or a floating BP against the resting ruckmen (eg either a Fraser or White)

So we throw a few names up for the FB role; Thornton, Hartlett, Kennedy or Hansen, throw a wild card in Bryan.

So what's your philosophy on the FB position?

Kennedy at FB? Flexibility? Kennedy was picked for CHF and that's where he'll stay? Without proving himself? (But that mark he took on Saturday was surely a sign).

I don't have a problem trying him out at CHB or even FB for a couple of games. The worst that can happen is that FB position is the wrong position for him, and you move him. In the meantime, however, he will probably get more game time by going back. His craft is marking and kicking goals, but then again, so is Hartlett. I don't think he would last a whole game at CHB at this stage in his carrier. But it wouldn't hurt.

We've got to get the spine fixed with the right personell whilst we've got the choices and developing, and not later. The good thing is that all the above are young, athletic and talented, and really tall.

No doubt it would be great to have a gun midfielder to join Murphy, and 2 ruckmen. Gibbs will probably go to The Bumbers to help Campo.

Maybe next year.

Kennedy is a young key position player. Ok we can all accept that.

Kennedy has kicked 4 goals in 8 games or something like that at a time where our forwaardline isn't functioning. Most of us saw his fantastic VFL game where he was ripping marks from left right & centre in that second half. The most important development role for mine is to give him the confidence that he needs in his chosen position.

He needs time on the ground to work out the forward line and start taking the marks. At age 18 I would have thought we could give him 1-2 years to do this. If he's still struggling I dont see why you couldnt throw him back. but this kid is our great white hope and we owe him time in his preferred (drafted) position to show something. IMHO.
