Imagine that. and imagine if denis coached the bullants and they kept winning
and Mitch coached the Bluebaggers and they kept losing....

I'll take the risk!!! I'm tipping he'd win more than 20 games in 4 years and actually get us off the bottom. Our win/loss ratio might actually go ina positve direction for a change. Something about the players wanting to play for him. Funnily enough, it helps the cause.

I'd rather go through the process of getting the best coach we can and first I'd rather get rid of this board.

I imagine that probably would happen.
I also agree about getting the best possible coach. Mitch is good value but this next coach sourcing process should be the most exhaustive in the history of AFL clubs.

LEAVE PAGAN ALONE!!!!
OMG IT IS OUR LIST NOT PAGAN!!
look, i know we've struggled but it is not pagan's fault. it is the fault of parkin who recruited badly and traded away draft picks and our recruitment generally up until hughesy/cazzesman were appointed. (they have done a good job i am talking about before them, the o'sullivan era.). wehn osullivan was in charge of recruiting we didn't recruit well, and only really had success with late picks not early ones. Murray Vance/kris massie etc.

Pagan has had to not only coach but rebuild the list and he has done that. next year we will also be near the bottom but then we will move forward. and it is then that pagan will show his class. just look at what he did at the kangas, 7 straight prelims. and he'll do the same with us he just needs a bit of talent. for gods sake u criticised him in 04 when he made us competitive, got us 10 wins, people were calling on him to be awarded coach of the year. BUT WHAT DID WE GET OUT OF THAT YEAR? NOTHING. SEE he knows we need to go down before we go up. so hes putting his reputation on the line for us. to make sure we are great again. and it will work eventually you just need to have patience.

one more thing. i crashed into the corproate hospitality suite at the socerros v greece and hodge/riewoldt/luke ball were all high in their praise for denis. said he was one of the best coaches out there and carlton were lucky to have him. and i went up to fev and said i admired how he stuck up for denis and he also reiterated it wasn't denis's fault and that denis had alot of respect from the players and that he was going to stick it through with us. and good on him, he will prove you all wrong. and you will in 2009 when we are competing for the premiership realise how foolish you have all been. this is just one piece of a tapestry. you can't understand the whole tapestry until you have seeen all the pieces...
the struggling is one bit but it is a fairly big one.. but it is also necessary to the overall picture. Denis will hear us to glory, just realise it wasn't his fault.

Shotmov/MCB
Denis' number one fan and will always be supportive of him.

What else do you expect them to say to a member of the public? They'd say that whatever the situation was, so i wouldn'r go around trying to use it as proof.

well hodge referred to his years at the kangaroos not just his years as senior coach but also under 19s so clearly he meant what he was saying and knew what he was talking about.

Those guys don't have to put up with him on a daily basis as their senior coach.

I get to support the club with him there. Does nothing for me whatsoever. Just happen to get sick of going backwards each year.

I am sick of it too, I think we all are jim, I just see a far bigger problem than the coach - interestingly out comes this morning in the papers the stuff about Rats wanting to be coach. Timing is intersting... the campaign through the papers has begun?

are we (meaning them, the board) prepared to take on Rats/SOS (or both) as coaches merely to get rid of Pagan and so (in their eyes) save their own hides? Is this doing something????

I seriously do not think Denis is harming the development (sure he may not be excelerating it but is that such a bad thing? - God I hate the draft rules) but I do believe this board is so bereft of ideas that we as a club are in as much danger now as anytime these past five or so years.
