It's not acceptable to be where we are at the moment, but there is no point carrying on about Pagan - let him see out his contract and then don't re-sign him.

If we didn't have Pagan, Brendan Fevola would not be playing for the Carlton Football Club - that is one great thing Denis has done.

Are you saying that Denis Pagan did not want to trade Brendan Fevola last year?

With Brendan's approach last year everyone including Brendan thought he needed too be traded.

This year his commitment and dedication have shone through, and he is at where we all believed he should be.

if we didnt have pagan, fev would be playing for beaconsfield right now.

when pagan came to carlton all fevola had achieved in his 4 years at the club was 12 goals in a practice match 3 years ago. we can never praise pagan enough for what he has done with fevola.

I don't get it !!!!

Everyone bags Pagan, but when push comes to shove and we can potentially make a difference, no one wants to put their hand up.

I understand that this would potentially be bad publicity for the club but my answer to that is... short term pain, long term gain !

There are very few people who can make an educated (factual ) assesment on where Pagan is at in terms of his coaching of the blues.

A few may know players who say he is shit, there are the hardcore numbers (winning percentage), there is his recruitment record, and his development of young guys.

He has certainly let himself down in terms of recruiting Mick Martyn, Ricky Mott, Jason Saddington, Callum Chambers, Troy Longmuir, and Daniel Harford.

Perhaps that was his choice, perhaps he was unwisely guided too recycle players.

The two shining lights in his development process has been Fevola and Blacwkell in my opinion.

Of his recyled players i would say Scotland is the best.

Who is to say someone would have done better? Or worse? That's subjective.

His game plan could be scrutinised, but does he have the players?

Lets put it this way, what would people's views be if he could be paid out no questions asked? Probably let him go.

For now he needs too stay put, unless a financial backer comes through and offers an alternative.

Many say he still is good.

Having said that I think the club could be more insistent on him getting his mug on TV shows and selling the club and the upcoming draft a bit more.

Think blackwell was always going to be a gun - averaged close around mid 20s touches prior to being drafted- both in under 18 comp, reserves and senior WAFL matches.

He would have got picked up by someone else.

you're not seriously telling me another coach would have picked him up thrown him at full-forward and got out 63 goals, 66 goals, 49 goals and so far 65 this season out of him. i think pagan's biggest strength is his ability to work with players on an individual basis and bring out the best in them and that's one thing that hasnt changed in footy. players always need guidance and pagan has provided fev with the best so far. when pagan came to carlton fev was absolutely nothing, an uncommitted and unfit lout who couldnt give a stuff about his footy.

The majority of us agree that Pagan should go. I’m assuming this translates into the majority of Carlton members also thinking this way (this is an assumption but all the members I speak to think so).

As such, I’m seriously contemplating bringing a video camera to the footy over the next couple of weeks and asking Carlton members to state their name, membership number, and if they reckon Pagan should go.

If I spent some time between quarters going around the ground, plus do a bit before and after the game, I reckon I could get 100+ members agreeing.

I realise this will potentially come to nothing as
- Pagan is still on contract
- The club can’t afford to pay him out
- The club is too anal to think that he is part of our problems
- Etc..

but at least I and my fellow members could feel good knowing that we have voiced our opinions (once I mail copies to the board and the coach himself) !!!

WHAT DO YOU THINK ???

WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO VOICE YOUR OPINION ON FILM ?

Count me in.

I would be happy to express my opinion of Denis Pagan for you.

Provided that at the same time, I could also express what I think of you.

You are aware that Pagan has 2 years after this?
Are you happy for our players to wait until 2009 before they run out under a new coach? :?
Not me.

I dont agree with making videos but if you want to let Pagan see out his contract, this club will eat itself alive before 2009.
IMHO, Pagan needs to go. Hopefully those in charge are willing to take the risk, even if you're not.
