Funnily enough I thought the topic was

"PAgan on Sports 927 prob gonna be a good listen "

BV, I haven't seen your giant ego around the traps lately. :D Are you going to make it to the U18 finals this weekend?

BTW, please keep up with your reasoned and even handed posts. You are a shining light around here. :D

I'm going to try to drag it along tomorrow Caz.
A couple of boys I coach have made a rep side so I'll be going to watch them in the morning.
I'm hoping to get there after that.

Why do people need to be "against" a player or "in their camp"?
Why cant we make assessments on an ongoing basis and accept posters rights to do so.
I am viewed by some as anti Campo but if you go back over my posts, I've been fairer than most.

That's the thing that I struggle to comprehend. As a hardcore carlton supporter I find that I like every player on the team. It's impossible for me not to.

But I guess i'm a realist. I know that Kouta will never again scale the heights of 2000. Whitnall's body, willpower, and a changing game plan will most likely mean that he won't again capture his outstanding form of those days. As much as I want players like Sporn and Wiggins to contribute quality football for the team, their days are slowly looking numbered. Time will tell, and I really hope they make it.

I know that Camporeale's output is nowhere near as good as his halcyon days of 2000. I put it down to losing numerous quality midfielders who fed the ball to him on a platter in those days. His inability to sustain that high level in recent times, when the club has needed him most, has been disappointing.

I think everyone here aggrees that he is overpaid. But a contract is a contract. Whether it was signed off by the previous administration or not - it was still signed off by a Carlton Board. I think that it is pointless to argue over details of his contract if we all think that he is getting paid too much anyway. Small details like the figure that he was on in 2003 versus what he is earning in 2005 is neither here nor there. I don't think it would have effected the team in any way if Camporeale was being paid less - well, imho anyway. Could we have netted another 'big name' player if we had some cash to throw around due to a smaller Camporeale wage? Don't know.

I'm not in a position to comment on Camporeale's leadership since i'm an interstate supporter. I don't see carlton train. Personally, I have never identified with Camporeale as a potential Carlton Captain. He is no Mark Riccuite or Michael Voss. But I think he shows his leadership through his football. And, well, we all know how his form is travelling at the moment. Whether through playing with an injury or not.

I don't see a reason to flame the guy.

I can't get my head around people railing and ranting and mounting such one-sided arguments against Carlton players. I just don't get it. Surely the very nature of this website is that it is a discussion board. I interpret that as the ability to mount an argument or observation, take on other people's points of view and, well, maybe be a better informed supporter by the end of it. That's certainly why i'm here.

Must be my giant ego at work. :?
Or perhaps your humour is too intellectual for my comprehension?

Can anyone let me know what I've missed?
Jarusa?..........were you being facetious, witty or responding to a post?

You've made 4 posts in this thread Verbs and once again not one has anything to do with the topic being discussed.
If you dont want to discuss the topic, why the cheap shots?
Just dont get involved. :?

Deary me. Struggling, aren't we.

I quoted YOU because, like I said at the time, what you said was a good idea, hence I said it was "a novel idea".

In light of this, do you claim to have inside info BV? I haven't read anywhere where you have.

I'm hardly going to waste my time counting how many posts YOU have made in this thread BV, but I doubt many of them have anything to do with what Pagan said on the radio.

But I thought he'd changed his game?
You said he'd become a midfielder who "concentrates on tackles"!
Suddenly he's a half back flanker who concentrates on goal assists!
What was he in 2003 when his tackles were non existent?
Or 2002?

BTW, Where have I used Campo as a scapegoat for anything?
You made some innaccurate and poorly researched claims and I refuted them.
Is that the way it works?
You fabricate scenarios and if anyone disputes them they are using Campo as a scapegoat.
If you are going to tell posters they are wrong and quote inside knowledge, it may pay to be factual in your claims.

BTW, I am not "dumping you" in any camp.
You however should practice what you preach.

Teague is ahead of Campo in tackles, he has spent 5 minutes in the midfield this year. Campo has spent hours.
Your logic is flawed.

Again

Great hard hitting, Patrick Smith style finish to the post BV.
My logic is simple for those that are smart enough to understand. Campo is first of all not worth the 450K we are paying him at the moment, but he is still doing his bit for the team to the BEST of his ability.
I have given a number of examples, both on and off the field, to show this. In 2004 he lead tackles, this year he leads goal assists.

Yes he isnt setting the world on fire, but his next contract will show this...

Get over it already.

You know Verbs there really is a simple communications rtule you should follow - if listeners/readers don't understand what you are saying, it's not their fault -its yours. Instead of trying to put BV down why don't you simple explain yourself - if you can't then don't say anything.

For mine BV like Frank and like Caz (when he'ws not bewildered by wrists and toes ) gives open and clear-headed evaluations rarely cluttered with emotions. Just take what he says at face value and stop trying to read things into it.

Hmm...very intriguing Danny.

1. In a post, BV said that people with inside info should back up what they say with facts. I said that's a good idea. How is that putting BV down?

2. Jarusa said BV's posts are always clearly articulated.

3. I said " "...because it was funny that Jarusa would point out the obvious when there are a plethora of very inarticulate posts on TC by people claiming to have inside info but never backing up their inarticulate posts with facts. How is this putting BV down? Why would BV immediately jump to the conclusion that I'm having a go at him when previously I posted that I thought what he said was a very good idea?

4. BV posted that my " " was a typical response from someone who has nothing of value to add. So who's putting whom down?

If people want to jump to conclusions, and their egos are so precious they take offense to a " " and then begin putting other postsers down, then Danny, that's hardly my problem. I'm very good at ignoring crap.
