Pagan positive on Collins' pep talk

Some good quotes:

Quote:
"It was also positive and supportive, as well as being pragmatic and realistic, and I thought they (players) received it very well," Malouf said.

Quote:
"It was a bit of leadership from the president of the club to just bring all the players, coaches, management together and key football staff . . . it was more just to get a bit of leadership to the club at a time when it's not travelling so well on the field."

Quote:
One hovering fan interjected with: "Why not abandon the flood and just let them go?" When Pagan determined the man was not a journalist, he told him to "pull your head in", saying he'd be happy to answer his question if he wrote him a letter and he should not "big note" for the cameras

Quote:
"It was a positive motivation and challenge. I know I walked away pretty pleased and having spoken to a few of the players, I'm sure they saw it the same way," Pagan said.

Good statements from Collins, and I agree it showed leadership, but more importantly, Pagan has approved - he obviously knew it was happening - so he's now allowed to see who wants to play.

Let's get it started from this weekend.

Go Blues.

Were in for a tough two or three years.
Its baton down your hatches.
The club needs to know who has the heart and the stomach to wear the navy blue and who wants a free lunch.

There is no doubt about it.
Collo is no softcock. He will demand the players stand up both on and off the field if they want to continue on at the club.

the days of the free lunch are over....

Baton down the hatches Synbad??? Have you got cheerleaders on the brain again.

Agree with your sentiments about sticking with the club during this painful time. My suggestion to all TCers who support Pagan and Collo is to do what Denis says - write to them and tell them you support their actions.

Oh we have our very own Bluebird on TC.

anyone have an email to post for anyone who wishes to get behind the club led by president and coach rather than a few rogue players that have troubled the club over the last few years?

It isnt an easy job for Denis and Collo to change a decaying culture.
We need to get this right before we can worry about really challenging for anything.

Dont we implicitly do this by signing up as a member each year? I would have thought Collo and Pagan know they are well supported, apart from the guy who ran into the conference and a few posters here & there calling for a boycott?

What? Tougher than the last 2-3 years?

I think what you mean is perhaps some players are in for a tough two or three years...we (the supporters) have already being doing it tough for some time now...

The longer you do it tough the tougher it gets...
Were doing it tough...

Its important that if were doing it tough that we have hope for the future.
The Publicity arm of the club will have to shift into overdrive.
Our season will start around Sept / Oct with trades and drafting.. then the papers wwill ahve to come in and do some wonderful stories.
This should continue for the next couple of seasons..
with it all building to a creshendo of a young exciting football team capable of taking the competition by storm.

thats what we need to do...
but no band aid solutions.

We must do this properly.

I thought we got rid of the 'decaying' culture a couple of years back??

Which current players are ruining the stock then? Camporeale? Whitnall?

Yep according to some our current predictament is all Campo's and Whits fault.

Most of most know of course that it is much more complicated than that and just getting early draft picks is not the simple solution that some suggest. Building a solid team is a little more difficult than that, witness St Kilda.
