Hi all

Sorry for the tardiness, I'm sure I've missed the boat on this one, but a few weeks ago, whilst at the pub, I saw "The Fifth Quarter" program on the screen (but I couldn't hear anything) and I noticed there was an interview with Bannister's father going on.

What was the deal with that? What did he say? Why?

And I noticed my thread "My girlfriend is beautiful" was delted. I've no qualms with that, but I would appreciate some feedback as to why, because, whilst it was tongue-in-cheek, I didn't think it was that offensive.

Hi elroy,

I don't know which one of the mods deleted your thread, but I apologise on their behalf if they didn't get around to sending you a PM.

While you might have seen it as "tongue in cheek", it was a little risque for a forum seen by minors. That would be my guess for the move.

Anyways...back to the reason for your thread...I have know idea! :P

I think it had to do with the bogus call to one of the radio stations about Bannisters father being pissed off.

If I recall correctly, he came on TV the next day.

About Banno not being played in his preferred position of CHF.

Turns out Banno has amazing pace and a huge leap on him.

Elroy, I moved your thread into one of the moderator's forums. And after reading it again just now if you need an explanation as to why it was taken off the main board I suggest you think twice before posting. You should consider yourself lucky you did not receive an official warning.

Getting back to topic, it was proven later on that week that the caller was just some idiot who was no relation to Bannister whatsoever.

Proven?

Not sure it was proven, but that's what was claimed.

Another one for Joe the Cameraman perhaps.

Maybe proven was the wrong word to use.

It was all pretty strange however, and it becomes even stranger when you connect it with a topic started on the bigfooty Carlton forum a few weeks earlier by a newbie poster saying a lot of very similar things, in the same angry manner. Maybe Bannister has his very own stalker, unfortunately for him the stalker just happens to be a middle aged bitter old man.

Wasn't it the old man of one of Banno's ex girlfriends?

No idea. If it is then what was he trying to achieve, embarrass or help Banno?

Why do these warnings have to displayed for everyone to see? I don't see the point unless you just want to try and humiliate them.

And here's me thinking it was about how many times they'd been shagged by Warney!

Anyway - re Bannister's father, wasn't he asking Denis earlier in the week about his persistence with the flood? :D

It's the way the system works. Not sure hiw difficult it would be to hide the fact, but either way I don't think it's that big a deal.

What's it meant to achieve though? By giving me a never-ending warning it just makes me think you're power hungry, Mrs Caz is a femme-Nazi and Mel is over officious. BC is ok. Point is I actually don't see what it achieves, it's always going to have the opposite effect

By the way, I know we've covered this but it's ridiculous that it isn't known what the warning is for. You can't have it both ways, if you want to make warnings public make it known what they are for. To give a warning for a joke that just insinuated women should do the dishes, my god

Seems like you know what the warning is for

Was referring to the fact nobody else does, but yet you know I have one. Actually I'd love it clarified why it's still there :? I wont hold my breath
