Welcome back to the much maligned Wolfister's Weekly one cent stats for another week - only 5 more to go after this one! In response to our negative feedback (which was 100% of the feedback for the Wolfister Inc - the big blue office at the bottom end of town - in the last 2 weeks ), well, yeah, fair call... it's about time these stats started doing their job really... I've been contemplating dropping them for a while - but now they've got one more week to prove themselves!

Carlton have played Hawthorn 150 times for 102 wins (68% - with no draws!) at PM+2119. We've won 2 of our last 5 (the last 2) at PM-76, and 5 of our last 10 (PM+28). We've met the Hawks 9 times at the G for only 3 wins at PM-26 (including losing our last 3 at the ground) - 2 of those wins though were in important finals - and this "clash for the spoon" is kind of a mini final in a way... so maybe that will stand us in good stead.

The Blues have lined up in Round 17 some 102 times for 66 wins (64.7% - again with no draws!) at PM+1510. We've won only 1 of our last 5 Round 17 starts (PM-99) and 5 of our last 10 (PM+106) - which includes losing our last 4 on end, our last win coming in 2000 against the Hawks. If we lose this one, it will be our longest Round 17 losing streak on record. Our last 2 losses have been very disappointing losses to Geelong at the Docklands and Collingwood at the MCG. We've only won 6 of our 12 Round 17 MCG starts (PM+155) - the last win however, was that one in 2000 against Hawthorn.

We've played on July 23 15 times for 11 wins (73% - and again, no draws!) at PM+170. We've won our last 3 in a row - the last being back in 1995 against Collingwood by 22 points at the MCG - which is our only July 23 clash on the MCG to date. We've also only met the Hawks on July 23 once - back in 1949 at Glenferrie Oval, where we got up by 3 goals.

Till next week remember that 99% of statistics hate wooden spoons... regardless of what silver linings they might bring...

Wolf Out.

maybe you could start a sort of AD BC thing. WWWG (When we were good)
and NWT (now we tank). and give us the stats of the two eras so we can bemoan how things used to be and how they now are.

Maybe have LWHTHBRTAW (losses we had to have because really they are wins)?

Never - at Wolfister Inc we believe that a win is when you score more than the other team... and they are the only wins we support!
