I seriously reckon we're better than Hawthorn...we're not great obviously but I think that's a better Carlton side than Hawthorn one..

I'm actually pretty confident of a win this week.

I'm the same :(

Blimey, Bryan, French and DeLuca. Surely Archie won't play.

Thanks sas87.

 Not the fastest backline going around.

DeLuca playing with the moonboot still on might look a bit obvious.

We have soft, old, slow, lazy, unfit, and dumb in the backline, the worst backline in the history!!!!!!!!

I would think Archie won't play and Bentick will come into the side.

Apart from Bananaby, at least we know from the other inclusions what Denis' agenda is.......you're not playing to win with those type of inclusions.

I disagree Bretty. I think they've clearly picked a side to beat Hawks, one of the shortest teams out there. I think given how bad our kicking into the forward line is they're playing as tall a team as possible, with 2 big guys playing forward plus the standard forward line.
I think we've picked to win.

All this hoo-haa about Sporn is a bit misdirected isn't it? Criticism of Sporn is that he doesn't get the ball, not that he gets beaten in 1 on 1's. Sporn will play as a defender and will put in a hard, solid effort. Doubt he'll get beaten. Its just that we notice his deficiencies when the midfield can't get it.

If Kouta plays, we'll get the clearances. remember Mitchell ain't playing for them so how they going to find it?

Fair call molsey - but if going for height, what's wrong with the in-form (as far as the Bullants go) Digby in lieu of Deluca - Deluca's been out for 6+ weeks, wasn't exactly setting the world on fire prior to that (his marking attempts especially were genereally woeful) and is being asked to hit the ground running......it's a tad confusing.

As for Sporn - I don't doubt his ticker or wanting to do well, but he just doesn't end up doing anything.....he points a lot when he's out there and seems to run aorund aimlessly looking for his man. He's pretty ordinary is Trent, I'd take Wiggo over him any day of the week.

Hey Bretty... are you bretty10 from TBV?

I get the impression Digby is on the outer and won't be given a show. Besides, ADL could be thrown into the ruck although you'd have to doubt that after a) 6 weeks off and b) his lack of ability in the ruck.

Sporn...but he does, he keeps a man quiet! Maybe Pagan is bringing him in to play on Williams, to test him as a KP? We've seen Sporn take the role in the 2's, and somehow Williams / Livo doesn't quite mesh, although it could be tried. Looksl ike we'll have to disagree though, I'd take Sporn over Wiffo. Wiffo tries but gives up too many possies as a defender by not playing goalside, not doing the basics.
