Blues2005, now do you see why it is crucial to get someone like Marc Murphy to the club?

including the coach?

he's not responsible for the lack of talent, tho he is responsible for getting the best out of what he's got, and moral and self-belief and confidence and anything that resembles a gameplan is all missing. 2 kids and a disgruntled player won't do much to change all that.

How can you get the best out of blokes who don't want to do the hard yards?

At the moment, I reckon Denis is getting the best out of our kids.
How good has Simmo been over the past month?
And Waiteys season so far?
And Livo's?
And Eddie Betts? Seems to love a run in the middle.

Oh yeah pj for sure, as you reckon, Murphy is the only player worthwile picking up in the draft, the saviour, the shining light, the appointed one who signle-handedly will lead us to flag 17 and a dynasty reminiscent of the Roman Empire in its heydey. The club quite obviously pj, would doubtless crumble without Murphy, the doors at Optus would be foreclosed, there would be no point in the club's future existence. None whatsoever pj. Murphy is the panacea you see, the man who exclusively will be the difference in Carlton of the future. Carlton would disband if it couldn't get Murphy, for there is nothing else out there, isn't that right, pj?

You just don't get the argument do you pj?

Obviosuly not when you carry on like a two bob watch.

My point in this thread was to highlight what a woeful side we have at the moment and what an injection of pure talent (Marc Murphy) would/could do for us.

And my point pj was to highlight THERE IS OTHER TALENT OUT THERE BESIDES MARC MURPHY AND THAT THE CLUB WILL BE SUCCESSFUL ONCE AGAIN WITH OR WITHOUT HIM. In other words, MARC MURPHY IS NOT THE PANACEA FOR ALL OUR PROBLEMS PJ.

Better?

I don't know what's funnier, that comment, or the fact that it came from someone who's not Alf Stewart

Or Camelboy, for that matter :P

There might be other talent out there, but we need to be able to pick the best that there is.

Anything else compromises our future.

Thats probably a fair point, but I have to either stay true a player I tried to like despite his shortcomings or stay true to the ideal's this football club need to look for in its players

Apologies to all those infatuated with losing, but I can 100% guarantee a victory this weekend. When it comes down to it, our team on paper is far superior to theirs across pretty much all the lines. Sam Mitchell's injury is a massive loss and robs them of some real midfield grunt.

We have really set ourselves for this one, and despite what anyone says I will be bluddy happy to get off the bottom of the ladder, despite the rewards that may/ may not come our way in November.

Stick to selling ice-creams Josh, they might not melt as quickly as your credibility !!
