After a great win today against the tigers, what is most likely to happen with many of the key questions we all want answered?

Importantly, is there 'light at the end of the tunnel'? With the teams performance today, has Carlton's image lifted and will we now appeal to those players from other clubs who are out of contract?

Have the solid performances of the Campos, the Whitnalls and co increased their currency and done their chances good of going to another club? Or did they play like they want to wear the Carlton jumper next year?...

Obviously today we went a step closer to missing out on the PP, but overall, does a good performance on field and the overall satisfaction of notching up a win outweight getting a PP?

Todays win certainly would have done a heap off good to the players' confidence and im sure this week there will be an extra spring in their step.

Come tomorrow morning, winning the next 4 games doesn't seem all that too impossible...

Also, how ironic is it that the three players on the front pages of the papers last week, were our three best players today.

Lots of food for thought...

Hey Bluejean, your a smart kid.Bloody confusing isnt it.Your heart tells you one thing, and your head tells you another. All i know is i wanna keep Lance no matter what.Have not heard one name thrown up yet that i would part him for.He dont help himself i will admit, but ya gotta hang on to class. If i was Pagan,i would put the ball in Lance's court and make him captain. He is a natural leader and the added responsability might be the making's of him.

Trying to be realistic.

Our forward line is functioning well. Fev is playing wide and taking the key defender. Harldy leading and doing the team thing. Opening things up for others to get a kick.
Waite has taken another small step forward from good play to very good player.
Fisher is now a good player and improving fast.
Carrazzo is a bona fide midfielder now who does all the team things.

Campo is not worth to much to our team these days. Playing out of the midfield makes us a better side. Still clever and a good kick but not worth big money or the problems he causes around the club. No leadership from him and a poor attitude. Racks the stats up in the last quater as usual with the game over.

Stevens is a class player. All is forgiven.

Houlihan can stay or be traded. Dont really care. If we get a decent deal then bye bye Ryan.

Simpson has come on and is a good wingmen and improving fast.

Lance is playing good football but if we can get the right deal then I say lets go for it and trade him. Hartlett or Setanta can take the CHB spot next year.
Lappin does not seem to want to be here next year. Not playing well and seems out of favour now.
Kouta should be our captain next year.
We need a ruckman to help French out.
Bentick should play for the rest of the season. Lock down a player and win some hard balls for us.

Still struggling down back. Livo made some mistakes. Not sure about him still. Good prospect at 22 with less than 40 games. Maybe better on a 3rd tall. Glad that he is signed for 1 year so they can see how things go next year. Teague is struggling still.

Fair point on Lance but it would be a huge risk to make him captain.

What if his form is hot & cold? ( as has been over the last few years )

What if he lets his fitness slip again?

Surely this wouldn't be a great example for a young team.

I understand your argument and can see some light at the end of that tunnel, but I think ( and rightly I believe ) the decision has been made to move him on and as much as I love Lance he's had plenty of time to get these things right.

Captaincy should be earnt, not given on speculation. Lance has value on the market still so it seems and I don't think it would make that much difference to us if he wasn't around anymore. However a player with a bright future who is still around the 18-21 year old mark might.

I'd love to keep Whitnall too but if the Cats or the Dogs (for example) came along and offered thier first pick then you would be more than tempted. Same deal with Lappin. He would be perfect in an established team and for his and our benefit a deal should be done.

If we could secure 5 picks inside the first 22 or 23 it would be a great result for the longer term benefit of the club.
