rally round the flag boys
rally round the flag
the games there to be won or lost
so rally round the flag boys
rally round the flag
it may be in tatters
and give more of a flip than a flutter
but its still navy blue boys
so rally round the flag
and stand with us
or sit
and cheer the boys home
for 3 quarters
then pray for us to kick zip
while the opposition storm home for a victory
that tastes as sweet for us
as them
at least so
in the logic centres of the brain
where draft picks and priorities
buzz around like blueboy butterflies
so rally round the flag boys
rally round the flag
the teams playing this weekend lads
so rally round the flag
the seasons drawing to a close
and with it our pain
unless we win again eh boys
then it'll be the end
so rally round the flag boys
rally round the flag
and at the end of this season
we can watch on tellie
and see if we end up with Marc Murphy
or someone so different
the world will be abuzz
with a group who chose the loss
over the win
so rally round the flag boys
rally round the flag
it can't get any worse lads
unless we win again.

That was good danny, helps if you read it while doing a little jig and swinging those elbows up in the air side to side.
