I know that there is alot of (kids) in our team, but compared to the Bris giants we are tiny!!!!!!
We need to do far more weights and upper body work with the guys that we are going to keep at seasons end.
The only Young big bodies are Waitey and Prenda(but his gone).

You obviously didn't see Livo. He is becoming a man-mountain. His fire-break hair cut is adding to his persona too. He will soon be feared just like Mick Martyn was...

I think we should all get to the gym a bit more often.

Aah I think Livo is getting there. He is learning all the time. Some of his kicks were quite penetrating too.

It is all going to take time, but I saw some good signs there tonight. Sure we dropped away, but we competed fiercely in the first half.

That's down to the draft. You have to draft kids like him. He just has natural size about him. You can tell he hasn't been in the gym. His arms are like Lance's.

I think Livo will be ok.. he showed some positive signs in the face of an onslaught.
We need players that want to embrace the gym...!!!

As for the guy who went on about "Why would Ratten and Hickmont need to get to a gym??"

Well look at Brisbane and youll see why...!!!!

We have started from miles behind...
Our bodies are just beginning to mature now...Everybody else has already mature bodies....

Circuits are for girls who wear designer lycra ;)
If you want to get stronger you simply lift heavy weights.

Big day in the gym tomorrow, it's my leg day, and you won't even have to pay me $650K for me to go.

John Lee Hookers famous line was "No pay.. no play!!"

But then he didnt have to represent the navy blue jumper.... only himself and all the other drunken and in many cases blind ...unemployed African Americans born out of wedlock...

True. Except for the boxing where you beat the crap out of someone's hands...and *accidentally* thump them in the chest. :D

At least a 5km run for me tomorrow. :( Would've only been 2km or less if we'd won. Damn you!!! Damn you all to hell!!!!

Ratten didn't need to go to the gym because he was a triple B&F winner at the end of his career who's speciality was winning the hard ball. Beaumont was the strongest at the club.

So Rattehn didnt think he should lead by example???
And if Beaumont was the strongest at our weakling club it says it all doesnt it???.... its cos noone wanted to go to the gym from Ratten down to the shit kicker Beaumont who has been in 10 winning matches in 4 years... and would get blown over by middle strength players from other clubs...

Thats why were shit now.. cos we had the wrong mentality...because of people like Beaumont... (are you related to Beaumont???)
Do you think Beaumont could shift Jonathon Brown,Gherig,Carey,Tredrea??? ???

By what measure?

Compared to other clubs we're well behind in strength with a few exceptions (Kouta, Fev, Livo). There's always going to be a few like Lappin who will never bulk up, but you're never going to win a flag with a team full of men in boys bodies, especially not in today's AFL.

I read a list of personal bests in bench press and squats a few years back. Beaumont was the strongest and by a fair margine in the bench press. I'm all for weights programs but I didn't like the way DP treated a club legend.

Not I.
I did 60 with a 15lb weight held behind my head today though :)

Imagine the player Whitnall could've been if he'd been made to put in time in the gym as soon as he arrived at the club. That the club had no real weight program before Pagan arrived is pathetic. Camporeale is barely bigger than the kid who was wearing no 16 in the '95 Grand Final.
