Being a Blues supporter gives us bragging rights that no other supporter has, allows us to walk taller than others and to know that we are superior to other teams and to other supporters.

We have been successful for longer than others and have always been despised because we are Carlton.

We will be successful again - let the others enjoy our current malaise (including Fatprick Smith)- it will be so much sweeter when we rise again and can once again laud our superiority over each and every other team.

It will take time, but we have history, a winning culture and very successful people behind the club waiting for the right time to ensure that we rise to the top again.

This year was always going to be tough – nobody could have expected that it would be otherwise. We are rebuilding – we have some young stars in the making. We will be a great club & a great team again – it will just take time.

However, a mark of the club & of each of its supporters is how we accept & react to the challenges that are presented to us.

I am eagerly awaiting our renewed success so that I can tell everyone that I was there when we built this new success, that I supported the club during its dark days and that I am entitled to smile smugly when I tell others that I am a Blues supporter.

Stay true to your belief in and love of the Blues & enjoy the little positive steps that we will see each game - because each time this occurs we will be one step closer to success and the natural order of football being restored.

It's the way we're losing!!

It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't roll over and get smashed so often.

I am proud of the youngsters who are busting their guts on the track and trying their guts out...they will be rewarded.

Memo to our senior softies - HAVE A @#$%&! GO!!!

Thanks Razor....exactly how I feel!

Budzy, that's great...we need suggestions on how we can improve and you tell it as we all see it.

Have a go boys, and don't be soft....it's a physical contact game...they all know the rules...go in hard for the navy blue seniors...show us what you're REALLY made of. Stick it up 'em!!

i remember we were in the pub watching a game last year and the 4 or 5 of us die hards were going nuts during a game. think it was when we got a run on against freo at the G and one of the bar staff asked us to quiet down, i said to him "mate, if you thinks this is bad wait untill we start winning again".

pretty well summed up how we were feeling.

this season isn't about wins and losses for me, it's about the kids and seeing a glimpse of the future. sure if we win i'm going be loving it but it's about more than that this year.

I can sum up this thread, remember the roar at the Wiz Cup GF last year? It was a Carlton noise I had not heard for many years, it was a false start of course, but our supporters are very hungry... I cant wait!

This is what its all about!!

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/ ... 62,00.html

Quote:
After 100 or so years of domination, of bluebloods and prime ministers and arrogant presidents, of premierships and famous comebacks, of champions and legends, of self-indulgent success and salary cap cheating, the once mighty and proud Navy Blues are being ridiculed.

Yes, they have been a cornerstone of the competition. Yes, they have made money for themselves and others. Plenty. And yes, their theme song, the , is a majestic piece of music that is oh-so fittingly Carlton and oh-so excruciating for opposition supporters.

Now, this mighty Ghengis Khan, this conglomerate which pillaged for its own satisfaction and success, is on its knees. And sympathy is zilch.

Do I want sympatyh?? Never!! Enjoy the moment while it lasts fools!!
The idiots don't understand that we are CARLTON!! Part of the pleasure we get is being hated for what we are!! "C.A.R.L.T.O.N." Nee I say more??

Thats it Ockham and Carlton need supporters like you, that are positive and continue to support us through thick and thin. Those that are taking this so badly are doing so because, they are not used to being in the position we are in, we haven't experienced it before... but we have to be in this position, we need to be in order for the blue boys to continue to be successful in the future, even if it does take a while, if we didn't slow down and rebuild our side, then we would be worse off. We would never get back to where we all want the blues to be and of course where they would like to be.
And you know what!? Even though we are doing pretty bloody badly at the moment, I kinda enjoy it, because it is exciting to see the younger players making the future of Carlton, it is so good to see them get better and better everytime and know that we are going to be ok.

Great post Ockham.

GO BLUE BOYS!

Carlton will redefine the word arrogance when we come back. Every article, every caller, every post that is against our club is being stored in my memory ready for that day!!

My thought exactly Uncle!!! If I'm hard to bear now, I'm going to be unbearable when we're winning again. I've also decided that I'm going to start keeping my old membership cards just so that I can prove in years to come that I was true to the club when others were wavering!!!

No need to get ugly!! Simply by winning we inflict more pain on the "Others" than is imaginable!! The fact that we even won the four games last year created more heartache and pain that were experienced as a result of all the wars in history.............. Well ..... alot anyway!!

We don't know the meaning of the word "Pain" in comparison!!

Alternatively, when you are successful again you might show some humility in recognition that success goes in cycles and no-one is born to rule. Then when inevitably you have your tougher years again you will be less likely to have the current venom visited on you ...

Well - we could do that Old55 - but then we'd be like everyone else, and the comp would be poorer for it!! :)

And to kick off the spirit of accepting everyone - I'd merge with Essendon*. That way, we'd have even more premierships! I'd even let them have 2 parts of the new name to our one..... We'd insist on keeping "Carlton", and they can keep "Football Club"
