That's very funny...

Still stand by it and if you read what I wrote Gerry you would agree with me . The guys nominated back on the 28 th are tuff uncomprimising footballers who made Pagan what he is with the exception of Carey and Mckernan( Who hated Pagan) the rest of the side were tough footballers not talented -not skillful -tough. Pagan likes players like this, ones that he can mould to suit he game plan , ones that cant think for themselves. Walker is not that type of player he is a Talent - Pagan cant handle this type of footballer he wants to turn him into a tough tagging type player. He even said it himself he has difficulting coping with Fev. Pagan needs players who cant think for themselves he needs players that will do what he says and nothing else. This is why he pisses off so many who are under him . His 2 flags that he won were against weak opposition thats how is gameplan held out in previous years against tougher opposition he didn't make it past the preliminary we was out thought.

Now I will tell you why Pagan will never be successful again - It is because when you go to the draft table you are not going to find and Archer - Stevens - King - Martyn or any other player like that because they are not the type of players that make it through the draft camps . so his gameplan his style of play and his coaching methods are not suited to the mordern day footballer like Walker

Sydney - I'm sorry.

You are absolutely right and the contradictions in your posts are irrelevant.

I apologise completely for ever thinking it was worth having a debate about anything to do with Denis Pagan in the first place.

I have seen the error of my ways and I shall never again...

a. highlight the contradictions in your posts

b. highlight the fact that you continue to attribute statements to me or others that are provably untrue

c. question your undoubtable genius on all things Denis

I shall now put on my smokers coat, wax my moustache and retire to the drawing room an anachronism who hasn't kept up with the changes to the world.

You are a genius and I am unworthy of sharing your pixels.

He played this year having completed one & a half preseasons - remember in his first he was getting over a knee.

Waaaay too early to be disappointed. He'll be right.

I'll say! Are those even the right details next to each draftee in that list? Puts Walker as one of the older recruits in a draft he was supposed to be the youngest in??

I think you'll find he was born in 86 and not 85. That problem has come up before.

Yep, this thread deserves an award. It is the most appalling thread I have ever seen.

At one stage, I considered posting that its one merit was that at least it offered some respite from the Anti-Pagan threads. But lo and behold, it now has that in it as well :?

Can it get any worse?

Yeah ! ....why don't we start talking about how AW would have been a better player under Wayne Brittain? ........(hang on; that's worse isn't it?)

Can you imagine Walker under Brittain, running it out of the D50, having a few bounces, and passing to...no-one? Wow, so much better than under Pagan.

Wait...that was a joke, right? :garthp:

How skillfull are the Swans across the board compared to the Eagles? :garthp:

You should start another thread if you want to bag Pagan and it's a pity Russell, Hartlett, Blackwell, Raso, Murphy, Kennedy, Bower and Edwards are already write-offs.

so SB your theory as it stands is Pagan will fail because the new system means he will never be able to recruit the types of footballers he needs to win a flag?

So we need what kind of coach - A Roos? Not a great side, more a side of goers who worked their arses off for each other and...oh hang on that sounds a bit like the Pagan sides. Okay scratch Roos.

A Matthews side - laden with talent and big strong bodies and players prepared to intimidate opponents and to crash hard and fast in and through pac....oh hang on that sounds a bit like the Pagan sides. Scratch Matthews.

A, Eade side or wallace side or gentle, loving Timmy Watson or man mangement machine Thomas or....

nah I reckon Brittian, ring a ring a rosy brittain, he'd hang fat... mind you funny how no one's picked him up... still he could coach. Just needed a few more goers and he'd have made something of the mole hill.

But Denis, @#$%&! arse! Fluked his two, it'll never happen again...

I should ask IS for another GIF with the images of Walker and this guy alternating. :garthp:

Hey Warby you started a thread is Walker disappointing - noone else - and I cant think of to many others on this site who would even continplate starting a thread like this. What response were you expecting - I just said I would like to see him run and dont like the way he has been handled - which in turned turned into a Pagan bashing- Sydney Blue Bashing thread . Walker to me looks like a CLASS ACT he was given tagging roles earlier this year and then banished back to the bullants when his form drifted a bit . Not exactly the best way to be handled in my opinion. But then again I'm just Pagan Bashing

Discussing this with a couple of inmates at lunch at Sunnyacres -
I think he is going along well given he started playing when he was 17 - was the youngest player to play AFL football in 2004 and still 19 has played 33 games of AFL football - turns 20 sometimes next year - has played as a tagger -a winger hff hbf in an inept side for at least last season -
Moreover Vintages list is instructive because apart from Cooney most other early draft picks of that year wouldnt have played as well as walker -the only other pick that may have been as good thus far is McLean - I would argue that bradley Slyvia and tenace so far havent been as good as walker
He is going to be a very good player for Carlton and dont see how the coach can be bagged for using him in a variety of positions and on occasions dropping him if he doesnt think he is performing or think it is in his long term interest to do so

Sydney Blue; I will now reproduce for the FOURTH time one of my posts from Page 1 of this thread.

8 pages later; I really can't say any more about the subject than I did then.

I admit that I'm a bit too impatient with AW at age 19; it's unfair.

I suppose we've had so little to enthuse about that we're inclined to expect too much from our kids.

Unfortunately; he did show so much in that first game 2 years ago, and set a level for himself that may be hard for him to consistently reproduce in the future.

I really hope he can.
