Hey i wanted to get Walker and Stevens by coming second last.
I wanted Deledio and someone else..
I wanted Murphy and Kennedy
I want Gibbs/Hansen/Sellar/Proud/Collard ...

Call me greedy... but i want all these players by coming low because i dont want to be nothing FOREVER.
Im spoilt.. i loved it when we had the best players..
I loved it when people said Oooooooh Ahhhhhhhh Carlton.
I loved it when i had bragging rights.

Considering i havent had bragging rights for a few years and at least a couple more.. i want to make it count.

So when Walker/Murphy /Kennedy/Betts etc hit their straps...

every flower that took the opportunity to take a kick will get it back.. steel capped boots im going to wear.. and if they thought i was arrogant last time.. God help them this time!!!..

and i know it wont last and after we have our run were going to be back here again.. because thats what the AFL has created.. so im praying we stock up well enough to give ourselves a run that will allow me to kick some testicals around for a few years.. before i have to cop it all back again...

The alternative is.. were just this sick.. decaying football club that has won nothing in 40 years.. noone cares anymore about sticking it up us.. no one hates us anymore.. and were just nothings .. in the middle of the ladder.. to safe to go up or down....

I might as well go support soccer or rugby then...

I hate being average...

Carlton wasnt average ,, its is becoming average..it better not stay average...

If you had any comprehension skills doofus, the mistake I pointed out was the fact we won 10 games.

Delusions of grandeur - like John Elliott. Why bother wasting time on hacks like CG.

Finishing down the bottom for picks is good in theory.. but this is now the fifth year that we have been shite.

Surely we have got to start showing some improvement now. You have to crawl before you walk. we aren't even at crawling stage.

I looked at Port - how they built up their team. very few players in the top 10 of the draft. - a lot were from trades and a lot were between pick 10-30.

There must be a way to get smarter... and start winning to show some improvement.

so far i think this year is just as shite as last year.

Yes tap, but in 2002 we had a very top heavy list of ageing stars. We did not have a Tredrea, Chad Cornes, Kane Cornes or the Burgoynes coming through the list. And then there were also the draft penalties. In 2002 we were the train wreck we've currently seen. Look at all ourp icks from 1996 to 2002 and you see a litany of failure that is a key factor holding us back to this day. We need an emerging core of good players, and that will take many drafts to fix up.

Not every low draft pick will become an A grade player, but you have to be in it to win it.

Strangely enough I often agree with a lot of what you write Carlton God even if much of it is unoriginal however I have to pull you up on this one. It's you in this instance but it might have been any one of the majority of people in here who make this mistake.

Picks 1, 2, 3 etc are not LOW draft picks they're HIGH draft picks. They might be low numbers but they're HIGH picks. When a team is sitting on the top of the ladder is that a LOW ladder position? No it's a HIGH position even though they're number ONE on the ladder which is a LOW number.

Picks 77, 78, 79, etc? They're LOW draft picks even though they have HIGH numbers.

Get it?

I thought you would.

I hate to be a pedant but...

...@#$%&! - No! I don't!

I love it!

This has been shitting me for ages and I feel a whole lot better now... :-D
