By the way when i hear people saying "Smorgon might have a plan buit you dont know it".... i wanna laugh into their faces and tell them how thick they are.!

If there is a plan it would be obvious.

Agree 100%
I dont reckon Smorgon has a plan, and i dont reckon smorgon has much of a clue. BUT did it ever occur to you Synbad, in your infinate wisdom, that the guys he's brought in MIGHT just have some ideas? That they MIGHT have a plan?
How about before you go and bag every single name that gets thrown up, you actually give them a chance to say something. And i know what you're thinking; why should we give these guys a chance when smorgon has failed us before?
The answer is simple. Just because Smorgon appointed these 4 guys, it DOES NOT necessarily mean that they want to align themselves with him. We all know that Smorgons up s**t creek without a paddle...he'll take any help he can get right now, even if it means the guys that he brings in eventually go on to screw him over.
I think you'll find that for harrison and moulton, joining the board now is a means to an end. They want top get their voices heard and get the ball rolling in order to eventually create change. Massive Change.
People like you, Synbad, who do have a genuine love of the footy club, HAVE to give these guys a chance to be heard! Then, and only then, can they be judged fairly.

They are part of Smorgons "unity ticket"
How can they be part of a formal ticket yet not be aligned with the leader of it?

They are a part of that ticket, and they want that ticket to be successful. But they havnt jumped on board because theyve lliked the way Graheme has been running the joint. Theyve come in with a mind to fix the situation up. They have many more iedas then Smorgon ever did and far more support. While they remain below smorgon in rank, they have a mind to climb the power ladder.

It's interesting to read the views on this site. As a long term observer, it seems that whatever Smorgon says or writes, it's condemned straight away.

Maybe not everything the bloke puts out is inspirational, but most of what I've seen I believe to be the truth, and that's a helluva lot more than I can say for the years prior to the Elliott downfall.

The guy has done a lot towards getting the redevelopment of Princes Park underway, and while I wasn't wild about not moving all our games to the MCG, at least it seems he got us a good deal to move from Princes Park, which most of us wanted.

There's nothing un-democratic about appointing the four new people to the board, as we have the chance in a couple of months to vote for or against them anyway.

From the profile of the four, it seems they are of the profile we've been looking for: skilled, successful and imaginative, I hope.

Maybe they are not the answer, but slagging them off doesn't help to find out.

You may be right SHAGFAN. These guys may have a lot to offer. They may know that they'll have the support of all factions come the election, or something like that. But to come onto the board as part of a Smorgon maneuver that stinks of desperation seems a bad move on their part to me.

We'll have to see what they have to say come election time, but at the moment they seem pretty closely aligned with Smorgon. They will need to be careful if they don't want to get caught up in the backlash that may well come at election time.

Really?
At least 6 people are making decisions on our behalf and none of us voted for them?
Did our elected representative Laurainne Diggins vote in favor of the recent 4?

Democracy my arse.

But Smorgo told us he wanted 6 board members or was it 10 or perhaps it was 12.

Our President is not inspirational. I wonder if that is why so many of us want him out? Hmmm....

Un-democratic. I don't think i had a say as a member? hmmm....

I'm skilled, successfull and imaginative, wheres my spot on the board? hmm....
