Whitnall ,it was indicated, was not involved in the incident(he will be fined for missing the curfew)

Scotland,it was indicated, was part of the incident and nothing can be done whilst Police investigations continue. He was fined for breaking curfew.

Simpson,Grigg,Jamieson and Fisher were all out late but had left prior to the "incident"..All fined for breaking curfew.

No details of the fine nor would they disclose the curfew time set by the Club..

Malouf was NOT out of order!

Most of our regular contributors from other clubs are very good. The trolls are weeded out pretty quickly and shown up for what they are.

mandy sticks mostly to TalkingStuff but on occassion has actually spoken a lot more sense about our club and where its at than many Carlton fans. The jumper issue was one such occassion where she spoke very passionately in favour of us not changing our jumper.

Don't let that get in the way of a good witch hunt.

It's amazing how many people seem to think that slagging off EVERYTHING an individual does regardless as to whether they acted appropriately or not is they way to force change.

If you want to criticize Malouf for his performance on financial management then go right ahead but having a crack at him for not "helping out" a bunch of imbeciles who should know better...?

I never heard the interview, but have managed to get an artist's impression of what Malouf must look like according to opinion here on TC.

It's all part and parcel of being an AFL footballer. No one is forcing them to play AFL, they can either decide they want to do it and take the bad with the good or go find another career.

There are two separate issues here. Firstly, letting the club and their team mates down by being out on the piss until 5am, after their curfew. This isn't out of season, this is less than two weeks before the NAB cup starts. They're going to be competing against players who will do everything they can to perform their best. They need to do the same.

Secondly, whether you like it or not AFL footballers will be targetted by idiots. Especially by drunken idiots. They just can't go putting themselves in situations where they're likely to run into lots of drunken yobbos. 5am on Ballarats main street is one of those situations.

They can get on the booze at home or around a mates place.
No one is forcing them to become AFL footballers. They made the choice and must accept the disciplines that come with it.

Question: If I offered you $250K+ per year for you NOT to have a drink for 12 months, would you take the offer???

Geez, I'd do it for $10K!!! 8)

By the way, I haven't had a chance to congratulate you for shooting down John Howard this morning.

Now that's community service. :-D

Sheesh BV, they're 18 - you're only there once.

I don't go for the fun sherrif attitude of no AFL player going out and having fun. I'm more realistic in saying 99% do it and cope okay. The ones who can't deal with it either get dealt with by the club, or the law. To make socialising a contraband is absolutely rediculous.

That said, I DO agree that 4am-5am night out at this time of year is worthy of a fine by the club, but not a lynching by the media.

Just as an aside, $250k is a good amount of money, but it wouldn't buy my life (I doubt that the 18yo boys are on that coin anyway).

Look these guys sign a contract saying they'll behave.
Going out till 4-5am goes against the team rules. There is no excuse.
Get drunk at each others houses or go home at 1am.

It is a privilege to play AFL. These guys don't know how lucky they are sometimes.

Heard whitnall say that nobody had a watch on them as an excuse
