That really shits me off! :x Collo does an about face & quits almost immediately after the AGM. If I was Marcus Clarke or the other bloke who was keen for a board position but missed out I'd be furious.

I would like to thank Collo for coming aboard in a time of need and making the tough decisions that have slowly but surely got this club back in order. It was a tough job and the hard decisions had to be made, he was an enforcer yes he ruffled some feathers but it was needed.

What concerns me is that i dont want to become an unstable club like Richmond, Melbourne and the Saints with board room bickering, board challenges & Presidency challenges every year that over shadow the club because we are so much better than this. So i hope the right decisions from now on end will be made and that we will return to the power we once were.

Like alot of us have said and he has achnowledged we need fresh blood.

Thats why you cant be taken seriously.

You think if people call for change. (with legitimate reasons) that theyre counter productive when in fact its just logical.

Should be an interesting board meeting on Tuesday night. Firstly, thanks to Collo, he was a brave man to take on Elliott the way he did. And we needed him to do so.

That said, I'm a little concerned about where we go from here. Smorgon? Lee? Who? While I'm in no position personally to judge, from what I've read on here Smorgon appears to be the logical progression, but would it be progression in the right direction?

Change can be good. And in this context I think it is right. But change can also be bad.

Thats the point everyone seems to think they know whats best like you have your view and i have mine........ but its already started we wanted Elliot out, Collo in, Collo out, Smorgan in, Smorgan out, Clarke in, Clarke president, Fitzpatrick president, unrest cause Smorgan in president, Elliot still opening his gob its just going to go on and on and on.

As for not taking me serious thats fine buddy but how can you question Koutas commitment to this club........ its a bloody outrage it is and you Synbad are slowing heading in the direction that i fear this club is on its way becoming THE RICHMOND FOOTBALL CLUB with an attitude like that

Let me tell you something budddy...!!!

Richmond was as big as carlton when i was growing up... !!!
It wasnt Essendon* is Richmond... Essendon* were having a nap.
It used to be Carlton Collingwood and Richmond.. (except Richmond won flags with great teams and Collingwood didnt)
Now because the club went to sleep with apathy and expected stuff to happen because if their history and without a real properly thought out plan with alot of their leading players engaged in a $$$$$$$ fight with collingwood... theyre now fu(ked!!!... if were not careful with players doing FA for squillions.. and an out of touch board that doesnt recognise the modern trends.. your fears we will be Richmond will come true!!!!

But then again i wouldnt expect you to understand something thats remotely complex.

You think Tigers supporters are knee jerk for no reason these days???

They have been sold up the river by players and officials for 26 years!!!!

Were already 10 years in... and i dont want to see my precious young talent looking at moneygrabbers as inspiration on how to be a footballer.

I also expect any board that is entrusted by the members with a joib to do .. to be more cutting edge and show some REAL PASSION to the job at hand and to stop the slide.

Cant do it???

Plenty of blokes that can,,,,

Collo and Elliot have dominated the Carlton political landscape for 20 years... it was time to bring in new people.. with fresh ideas that will take this club into the modern age,

Collo was more like an administrator in the way that he went about stabalising the club.. thats done... !!.. now we must get abit more creative.

I dont beliueve the others of his Carlton 1 ticket have got what it takes.!!!
But with elliot and collo out of the picture .. new people will emerge.. and its open slather with a whole new generation!!!

so you keep your own narrow minded vision on what the club needs to yourself.
Change doesnt mean bad.. if we didnt change and eveolve youd be a chimp.... but then again....

I'm just hoping that whoever takes over does not chain smoke and have the words 'pigs' and 'arse' in their vocabulary.

No risk of that happening. Jack is banned from being a director in any incorporated body (I think it is for 10 years).

John Elliot was just on triple M speaking about it.
He reckons there is nobody on the board that knows enough about football to be able to be the president, he said they should clear out the whole board and start a fresh. He said Collins is a knob for taking Carlton away from Optus Oval, because it took away our home game advantage, ruined the social club (reckons it doesn't work at TD) and lost money because of it...
Typical aye...

Any one know anything about this?

My question is... why didnt the board do all this before the AGM and allow Collo to resign and open another spot?
.

The Constitution of most boards states the the President reign concludes at the first Board meeting following the AGM.. It is there the President is determined.
In fact it is there that all positions are determined.

You wouldnt have voted for a president even if it had been done prior to the AGM.

I'm glad Collo has left Carlton.

The conflict of interest went on way too long, he should've never been allowed to be both prez and TD Ops manager.

Can you explain how the conflict actually affected anyone other than Carlton? I've heard people pissing and moaning about it since he took over the presidency but can't see why opposition supporters give two shits.
