No appeal...Fevola accepts 1 week suspension according to SEN news

If this is the case - it is probably because Fev is carrying a slight injury which a weeks rest would do him the world of good. Better to wipe the slate clean and keep our powder dry for another occasssion.

However if this is not the reason I will be mightily pissed off, if we are meekly rolling over to the AFL again.

And what about the smack around the ears AB copped as he and the ball were going OB in the 1st qtr? Looked f*cking deliberate to me. And a low act.

If a hit like Medhursts is deemed accidental, then there's something very f*cked up with the world.

When the incident happen my first thought was it was a bit crude and a bit stupid.
The replays suggested that it wasn't as bad as it looked at first and was an agressive attack on the ball just so happen Kirk was in the way.

Probably they have made the right decision taking the week and not risking further suspension

Since the Hamill case of 99 I dont think we have ever been on the winning case of an appeal- or at least cant remember one

The AFL tribunal/review panel is just as inconsistent as ever.
I especially dislike the new system because of the presumption of guilt.

They say, "You did it and you can take two weeks and count yourself lucky because we've given you a one week discount on the penalty. If you don't agree with that you can appeal and we'll give you three weeks instead."

Yep - it is official. All over the web now. Bloody joke really. I thought this was football, not bloody soccer. Kirk got up, didn't even bother arguing with Fev.

Then you have that Orange haired wanka from the Brisbane Lions come up from behind Goddard, smack him in the nose and he only gets 2 weeks. Don't give me that crap about Fev having a bad record. To smack a bloke from behind is pathetic and should get 4 weeks.

With 3 mins and 4 or 14 seconds left in the 3rd quarter there was a ball up on the wing.

Did anybody else see Houlihan sitting on his arse after a ball up call with Goodes standing next behind him, and letting fly with a knee into his back?

Goodes just lost his head for a second. That's all it takes.

There's another one that they chose to miss.

this is an absolute joke. even though i knew he would get a week (see page 2) i am livid. what has happened to our great game???? fev hit him the f@#$ing shoulder. football has changed to the point that soccer will be the force sport within 10 years. the AFL have sanitised the game to the point where it is unrecognisable. with coaches like roos, craig and clarkson being allowed to employ this game plan of keepings off for four 1/4s i lament for football.

our great game is being ruined before our very eyes. as i stated in another thread i will never watch a swans game again. for the first time in my life i am considering not going to support my beloved football side for the fact that i watched hawthorn play the same bullshit brand of football against geelong as the swans did against us. i don't think that i can stand it again.

i may be seen as a doomsayer, and i can cop that. i'm not generally a pessimist, but i genuinely believe that if something isn't done very soon football is going to fail.

He's got 51.88 points remaining, plus you get a 30% penalty every time you get reported within 3 years. He had 40 points from his last offence which were added on this time.

Grant Williams on 927 now. Said with points carried over from last year it was impossible to get it down to less than a week.

would have thought still worth while appealing as it reduces the carryover points for a 'next' time?

Find some other forwards. Dogs have a small forward line, yet they kick goals. Put simply our midfield has to work harder, and when we go forward to push forward and create options - if our forwards are covered, we have to run the lines and maybe have a ping like Simmo did against the Swans. We have good long kickers of the footy - Simmo, Stevens (occasionally), Bentick kicked a nice long goal, Scotland even - they have to use these skills to become more damaging.

It's our midfield delivery that is terrible. Time and again, we kick to the forward rather than into space for a forward to lead into. Only Murphy really showed how to hit a leading forward (with one or two other players showing occasional glimpses).

Had he gone to the tribunal he was up for 2 weeks.
