Here is my assessment of the list:

Good/very good/keep: Murph, Gibbs, Judd, Jamo, Hendo, Army, Garlett, Betts, Yaz, Walker, Waite, Scotland, McLean, Simpson, Carrazzo, Tuohy

Young but will/should make it: Menzel, McInnes, Bootsma

Unknown: Graham, Temay

Average but need to be replaced by better: White, Ellard, Curnow, Cachia

On notice/trade: Robbo, Kreuzer, Hampson, Warnock, Casboult (trade 2 of the 4), Lucas

Probably gone/wont make it: Mitchell, Watson, McCarthy (what a 2010 draft), Buckley, Bell, Laidler

Definitely Gone: Duigan, Davies, Joseph, Dale, Collins, Rowe, O'Keeffe

Personally I disagree about White, Bell & Lucas but a fairly good summation IMO.

Sorry...explain why 20 year old Dylan Buckley has been added to these lists? Costs nothing, has upside, yet to be tested.

Hope your right Doc. I see bits from him that make me think he could be very good then he goes missing for long periods.

I am yet to be convinced either way. Happy for him to have another year but needs to start showing some consistency.

Agree - Yarran for Jack Darling and a 2nd round pick in a heatbeat - Eagles need the pace.

You'd give him another season but its sink or swim.

If GWS want to trade their number 1 pick, I would propose giving them Kreuze, Hampson/Warnock (their choice) and Yarran. On the condition they throw in Jakesch as well.

We need to be aggressive trading, otherwise we will just tread water.

I agree with this.

Could we fool West Coast to take Lucas due to their lack of pace?

I remember saying the same thing about Kouta in the early 90's. Same age. Give the kid some pre-seasons before you write him off.

A cross between Luke Blackwell and Brett Backwell?
Could be a bit of Gartlett thrown in as well...

Haha, im thinking the late 90s was Brett Backwell.

Both similar kinds of players though

As well as the top end we also need players who work hard. Cachia stays, and although I wasn't a fan, Curnow is doing his job. Talk of trading Murphy is silly ... We'd never win on that trade. We wouldn't get return for our investment. People won't give up two first rounders and a top player again - Judd type deals are gone thanks to free agency.

We need to get rid of what we have excess of (a ruckman or Hampson  ) and try to get into the top end of the draft. Load up with as many second rounders as we can. Cut the dead wood - Davies, etc. if we get a favourable deal for one of our players we would otherwise keep then consider it. Be smart and active in free agency to improve the list.

A Dale Thomas would have been handy last night, and don't need to cut deep into the list to get him.

We will certainly by active this trade period.
My changes would be;
delist- Watson, Collins, O'Keefe, McCarthy, Davies, Duigan, Joseph, Dale
Try to trade Hampson, Lucas
retiring Scotland.
This would free up about 8 spots on the list as some of these are rookies.
Upgrade Bell.
I would keep Buckley and Mitchell and maybe rather than delist Watson and McCarthy try to do a trade if anyone wants them.
Bring in a couple of free agents if anyone wants to come to our club.
We made only 3 changes last year because we were hamstrung with contracts. This year will be different.
By the way Betts is still to re-sign and may be considering his options as a free agent.

No he won't.

I think you can take the stress cap off on that one.

This list lacks the leadership and killer instinct of a genuine top 4/premiership side.

We have our share of talented players but talent only gets you so far.

We need to be daring, courageous and aggressive at the end of the year to get in some ruthlessness.

Not sure why the pundits on here are advocating keeping Michael Jamison. GWS need a key defender as much as they need another ruckman....maybe more after watching James Podsiadly murder Stephen Gilham today. Would they give up something good? Absolutely. Jamo is 27 next week. Had a reasonable start to the year, but he's inconsistent with form and injury. Going to have to get rid of some quality to get some quality. Tim Golds and Taylor Adams please.

exactly !!

if people think we can delist the guys running around for the bullants and then dramatically improve our list , they are dreaming !!

we need to balance our list and i think our team will look dramatically different next year
