There's a decent sized paper, packaging and recycling company over in Perth in some serious trouble. Once they were kicking goals in the corporate world but times have changed and they're struggling to keep up. Their management style is all over the shop and they desperately need someone to come in and drag them out of it. Bad habits have set in and a succession of "leaders" hasn't been able to make much of an impression.

As it happens Richard Pratt has recently looking for a new challenge and this particular company interests him a lot. He's a little tired of his current lifestyle and the scrutiny he's placed under being in the glare of the Melbourne media post court case.

So Pratt approaches this company and the company drools. If you were looking to save your paper, packaging and recycling company what more could you ask for but leadership from the person who built the biggest company of its type in the country?

So the board of the Perth based company gets together and decides that they'll make Dick a great offer - lots of bucks, a five year deal, assistance with moving and so on and so on.

You name it - they offer it.




Oh - and they also give him a position in middle management.

Heard the tail end of a discussion on SEN that the players voted for Stevens by a majority of 7-10 votes and that Ratten and the MC voted for Judd.
It was implied that is was a done deal when Judd signed for him to get the job, was wondering if any of our insiders could shed any light on this voting story and confirm its truth...I missed the first part of the discussion and couldnt find out what source was being quoted....

Good point from Budzy. That was always the process as stated by the club. The MC, together with the board are the ones that were always going to select the captain from the leadership group voted by the players.

In summary:

Players vote for leadership group + MC and Board choose the captain = JUDD
