All this Davies talk....

Does anyone seriously think he'd be in the team if Gibbs, Waite, Russell, Kreuzer et al were fit?

He was called upon, he played to the best of his ability.

Well done Ratts for speaking up about Walker in the goal square. Absolutely disgraceful effort by the umpires there, regardless of the state of the game.

Carrazzo was at one point.

True, but I reckon Robbo is getting off lightly to be honest. He's a shadow of the player he was in the first half of the season.

CHB. Lock him in. Has shown heaps there this year and will be a gun in a year or two.

He has also made quite a few good attacking runs from defence, so will have a few tricks back there too.

Hampson in for Davies tonight would have given us far more flexibility.

We would have had an actual ruckman competing against the best combo in the business when Warnock deserved a well earnt rest.

It would have left Setanta and our forward structure intact rather than being bereft of talls when he had to do his stint in the ruck.

Hampson would have also given us a X factor in the forward line if needed. Davies gave us none of those options. Solid defender but has no size or presence when moves forward as an option. If we needed another defender (instead of Davies), maybe Brett Thornton could have gone back.

Bottom line, when you lose by less than a goal, I believe that the decision at the selection table was crucial. If the excuse was that Hammer was injured, then why bother taking him across the Nullabor. If he hasn't already been signed by GWS, I cant see any reason he wouldn't want to go. After all, we only had one ruckman tonight in Kruezer's absence and he still couldn't crack a game.

I am gutted. We should be playing next week and we're not.

Robbo was great tonight. Cracked in and won us a lot of possession.

Murphy was able to get free quite a bit with Judd being locked down.

Looks like Priddis had 14 clearances. We matched them in CP and inside 50s.

Carrazzo.

No he wasn't. He was too busy missing elementary handballs, kicking it 5 metres in front of teammates, and not shepherding to have an opponent.

Geelong reluctantly, hate the rest.

I didn't mean it like that, but that too. (apart from the bit about the prostitutes, a bit racist  ).

Haven't read the whole thread but Garlett's hold in the goal square was so obvious, disgraceful it wasn't paid. There were loads of others. One day we will get some luck in an interstate final.

Still, can't be anything but proud of their efforts tonight. Hope Thornton is ok - he must hate the thought of Subiaco oval now.

Back! As Lloydly said on the 5th qtr, Jammo and Hendo are an elite pairing.

Thornton, Waite and Kreuzer up forward is a winner, especially given Waite can play KP, running and 3rd tall roles.

The key is to keep them all on the park.

More a statement of how good he was at the start of the year (when he was the most improved player in the competition) than a comment on tonight.

Hendo is GOLD!!! Any 21 y/o playing like he has is worth hanging on to. he'll be our best KPP within 18 months

Last episode of 5th quarter as Channel 10 signs off after 10 years of pretty good footy coverage - at least we wont have to put up with Steve Quarterbrain, Monga Lloyd and that Supercilious Michael Christian who never fail to sneak in the cheap shots and snide remarks as far as we are concerned.

surely ratten has to say something in the press conf
if you dont flower say something it just keeps happening
if it was the scum or filth that copped that do you think they would say nothing
we owe it to the players who played there guts out and our members to have a crack at them

Apparently Ratten said on 6PR today that Hampson had a fitness test today and failed. Guessing he was looking at him to come in.

It's pretty clear we're a midfielder short.
