Not one of the Wakelin boys is it?

I hope it's not a Wakelin. They are old, been at 2 clubs already and according to Pikey, sleep with the light on. It better be someone decent - i.e. not a mature player like O'Reilly, Mansfiled, McGuane, Devonport, Martyn, McKernan etc. Maybe a Victorian wanting to come home from interstate, perhaps a Brissy player, hows Mal Michael's contract.... I hope it's not another one of DPs north buddies. Can't think of to many decent mid/ late career players who would be on less than 250k. If you look back, not many PSD players have been real good, although the threat is a handy way to get a deal done, but then again, i want to use the draft to draft quality. Sounds like we'll be getting a solid Trent Knobel type in the PSD.

What we really need is a Mark Riccuito 5 years ago

Isn't it amazing how some blokes start talking about long-term contracts when the team is going no good....

What do they think this is? a free ride? the 'job' you get when you aren't qualified (and I use that term to avoid hurting feelings) to do anything else?

Some blokes are lucky to get two year deals. We need to take a long hard look at our 'leadership' group. There' not too many leaders in there, just high profile players.

Of the names i've seen on this forum, I reckon Wirrpunda is the best of them. There's no telling what i'd do to sign him. HE is leadership material, and a former Victorian to boot.

He's more of a captain than Nick Stevens will ever be.

I wager they're talking about Luke Power

I hope so too....But you wouldn't think Luke Power is nearing his last contract...I thought he was only 25...Plus, i was under the impression that he was just about to sign with the Lions...

The hoo haa about Power possibly leaving the Lions has died down lately.
I wonder what the go is there.

My initial thought was Power also, but didn't we have a massive crack at Yze at one stage?

Not happy with a forward role? Is he contracted?

Yze was signed up a few weeks ago.
Luke Power's manager Ron Joseph met the Lions management before the Melb game and there was talk of him perhaps signing the next day. Still has not.

As far as I know Yze and Power are the only 2 in the past that I can recall that we threw huge money at to get to the club. Perhaps Cam Bruce we had a go at a few years ago.

Thanks mikey, didn't think we'd be looking at 28 year olds, but it was worth throwing in a fresh name. Cam Bruce... now you're talking.

Hmmm Synbad has been mentioning a player that rhymes with pal recently. He has balls and is in that age bracket.

Mal Michael wants to come back to Victoria. I reckon the Blues will have a crack at him. My understanding is that they had a decent crack at him last year.

Direct quote from Eddie McGuire tonight:

"Mal Michael has left the Brisbane Lions

Yep.
We had a crack at him last year, but as Synbad said, we didn't have a high enough pick to bring him to Carlton.

Has to be him.
