yep. doesnt matter about game plan, structures, talent etc if you don't have effort. in the AFL its a fine line. Effort in every contest, gut running, the little things can make all the difference.

Any chance Army or Johson get a run ?
I'd give Jeffy a chance to atone.
Watto before McInnes please.

Them losing Glass is huge. They rely so heavily on so few and Glass is critical. We lose nothing relatively speaking by losing Judd - we haven't had him all year so no big loss. Curnow will be a big loss, but not this week.

I'd bring in Jammo, Garlett, Robbo and Menzel providing all are fit. It may also be time to rest Cripps for a week or two and bring in McLean.

What to do with Rowe.......

Can't see four changes to a winning side! But who knows at the moment?

I would promote Rhett Baynes off the zombie list.

Killed them with our pace out West last year, so need to bring in Army and Jeffy to add to Yazz.
With Glass out, and with Jamo potentially coming back, might be worth keeping Hendo up forward and see how Rowe, White and Jamo go down back.

I think Mick is pretty determined to play Hendo predominately forward.

Scott Selwood will be a lot harder to run off than Wallis. Hope Murph can do it again. If we can win the midfield it will go along way to allowing us to play Hendo, Waite & Levi forward whilst our shaky defence get Kennedy & Darling. Hope Jamo is ok.

Really need someone to run through Selwood at every opportunity.

Most teams have struggled the week after playing in the Perth heat, hope the trend continues.

Loss of Curnow and Bell is significant. Both these men worked extremely hard and relatively uninterrupted through pre-season and would rank amongst the side's two fittest players. Bell's ground coverage on Sunday was phenomenal. His training alongside Judd was apparent and he took a step up against Bulldogs; very unlucky. McLean should replace Bell, Cachia for Curnow and Menzel for Judd. Glass out may be the chop-out Levi needs for a break-out game. Here's hoping.

Quote:
“Nick Graham played his role – he was an emergency the previous week and went back and played very well – so he’s certainly in our thoughts this week given that we need another midfielder,” Malthouse said.

“We thought that our goal scoring was pretty broad and we need to add to that. We’ve got players who have played pretty well in scoring, so they will come into contention, and we probably need another two backline players.”

Malthouse says Andrew McInnes, Josh Bootsma and Matthew Watson will all be considered, while Michael Jamison may be in line to return after missing Round 5 with a calf injury.

Yep, it's very hard to run off someone who you're carrying around like a backpack.

Was it him who Yazz burned off with his pace at every opportunity last year ?

Play him, and you could all but guarantee one of their forwards will kick a bag.
