There may be a silver lining.

Fev has been brialliant playing a lone hand up forward thus far, but we need to bring other forwards into the play. Hopefully a kid like Setanta will come in, take some big grabs, and the midfielders may start kicking it to him too, instead of looking for Fev every time.

Grant Williams on 927 now. Said with points carried over from last year it was impossible to get it down to less than a week.

would have thought still worth while appealing as it reduces the carryover points for a 'next' time?

Had he gone to the tribunal he was up for 2 weeks.

not necessarily - plead guilty but challenge the gradings - thats what most players have done when they challenge a charge - in pleading guilty you still get the discount so it would still have been 1 match

Can someone explain to me how Fev's crude effort on Kirk warrants 1 week suspension and Medhursts predtermined attack on Houlahans head did not even get cited?

Bentick got whacked in the head in the first quarter, had to go off under the blood rule and it was ruled as legitimate contact because he ducked into it. Fair enough too ... but surely Kirk also saw the oncoming opponent and ducked into the tackle when he could have stood up and taken the hit.

Surely the 'duty of care' principle goes both ways ...

The umpire guy on Fox Footy reckons Fev was lucky it wasn't more. He's a complete nuffy that bloke.
Tony Shaw may be a nong, but at least he said that had Kirk not fumbled and dropped his head again Fev wouldn't have caught him high.

had fev not got reported on the night he would not have gotten supspended.
the umpires rush of blood has got fev a week.

sometimes i wonder what the video review guys even look at. there were several other incidents in that game that were as bad or worse than the fev incident but they dont go up.

hope we stick it up the hawks this week

Medhurst was cited. He got 25% off for pleading gulity to negligent contact, bringing it down to 93.75 points, so escapes suspension (though I don't think it was negligent- should have been regarded as deliberate).

Fev gets 30% added on for previously being suspended + had some points from last offence, so has to miss a week.
