Kristian Jaksch beat Henderson when we played them.
He can play both ends...
Our backline would look better with Jaksch in it..

Reckon he'd be positioned up forward at the start without Jarrad up there but could end up down back as/if needed.

Played forward as a junior predominantly but went down back @ GWS due to their abundance of forwards.

..yep, is genuine kpp so is very good at either end, but more naturally suited as a forward.. ..while we wait for him to fill out to Kopp size, we can use him as a high half forward.. ..a good marking target to use.. ..was very young when drafted, given a position and role to do across half forward will really fast track him.. ..I think our backline is really beginning to settle and I would leave it, there is Giles to break into the backline as well.. ..we need to get a settled forward line too..

Cecil,
Mitchell is a superior player??, yet can't get a game. Ok missed games through injury but, played first game back had 24 touches then gets dropped.. Don't care robbo v Mitchell, reckon robbo has the runs on the board and Mitchell has the name only, yet to prove himself... Players like cunnington and Lloyd keeping him out..
we need to get serious and start drafting/trading with intent, for now and the future because in a year or two we lose, judd, Carrazzo and Simpson, big holes to fill..
Still don't think he will leave but, have a good crack at him..
Happy with docherty and everitt, we need to continue to add quality players not list cloggers..
Question,
Is Tom Mitchell worth pick 6??
Will pick 6 be a better player than Mitchell??
My answer,
I would trade pick 6 for Mitchell, already had 2 years in the system.. Apparently it's an even draft, can't go wrong with Tom!!!!
Would people be happy with Mitchell and Jaksch???
Both would slide straight into our team..

This post kind of contradicts itself. First Mitchell is unproven and being kept out by Cunningham and Lloyd, but by the end you're willing to trade pick 6 for him..
To put it simply, Mitchell has more class and polish than Robbo and comes without the baggage. He is a better player, I have no doubt of that. Would I trade pick 6 for Mitchell though, probably not I think he's worth a mid-late first round pick, somewhere in the 10-15 range. I'd prefer to keep pick 6. In terms of Robbo, I'm hopeful he's worth a late second - early third round pick. 30-40 kinda range. He's worth nothing to us if he's lost the trust of the playing group.

Went to a Yankees game yesterday, and saw Derek Jeters being farewelled in style (think Judd, but a one club player), then read this article on how they couldn't win for him and will struggle to replace him. The Yankees, it seems, continue to try to buy their way back to success, and I see uncomfortable parallels with us. For example they are behind others in developing their own talent preferring to buy it in and selling the dream that way to fans.

I hope Daisy is a one-off myself: no Higgins please. Get those players once you're up there in the top 4. We must build with younger players and develop our own culture, not buy it in. I think the Yankee story is a timely one.

Because he's from SA? May be settled in Melbourne now though...also easy to get from Arden Street to Royal Pde if you don't know you're way around a city ;)

I wonder how much space we have in the salary cap?

We have just locked away all of our key players plus Judd. You would think if we are chasing one or two of Jacksh, Mitchell, Jones, player X, etc, etc, we will need to free up some cash? We probably need to lose Waite, Robbo, Garlett plus another one on a decent contract (maybe Warnock?) to make things happen.

So far we have only saved $$ on Bootsma, McInnes, Duigan, Temay which would be chicken feed.

Scotland would have given a little space. Judd should be taking a cut too.

Warnock is still on 600k until the end of 2015 I believe.

I see Sewel got droped from the Dawks line up. He must be done with Harthorn.
Here's a hyperthetical that's surley going to get TC up in arms..... Sewell as a delisted free agent next year....... :donk:

Surely Robbie's not on 600k? Gibbs would be lucky to be on that in his new deal.

Termination of Bootsma's contract also gives some cap space

How?

Have to replace his spot on the list.
